November 2018 AOS Filers

Hello! Looking for some help to see if anyone has had a similar experience.

 

My husband and I went to the Boston USCIS Field Office for an Infopass appointment. We are trying to expedite his work permit based on multiple job offers and financial loss. I wasn't expecting the Infopass appointment to be helpful but the office is right across the street from where I work so we went anyways. Not only were we told they can't help us with expediting, but the officer told us our i-485 had been insufficiently filed. We never received a letter and my husband had his biometrics appointment end of December 2018. The officer said it looks like someone started a letter in the beginning of December but it was never sent and he could not help us at all. So it looks like everything has just been sitting in limbo. We are going to call and try to figure out what's happening. My first thought was I sent the incorrect payment but all our receipts indicate we sent the right amount and owe nothing.

 

Anyone have thoughts or heard of anything like this? We would have never known about this if we hadn't gone to the Infopass appointment.

Have you and your husband done anything together with a receipt with both your names on it? Like, my husband and I went to NYC in December together so I have our plane tickets and airbnb reservation information printed out for when we do our interview.

I think we have a letter with both of our names on it.. Its three months since we got married so just gonna do our best.

Bank account shows all translations in and out and all the join financial life.

You didnt come across as snobby but I will, lol. The poster we are trying to help doesnt have any of these things because she doesnt have an SSN. (Scroll up).

Followed your advice and made an appointment with the IRS Taxpayer Assistance Centre to apply for ITIN. For people going that route, I suggest to call ASAP, the ITIN application process are only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. 

 

Im still hoping that all of us Nov filers gets our EAD/AP soooooon, maybe by next month hehe.

Interview was scheduled for 05 March 2019 and today my status has changed to “Interview cancelled and notice ordered”. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ok just got the letter from DHS in the mail: reacheduled to one hour later. Same day though.

But at the same time the mailed letter about rescheduling dated 20 Feb and email about cancellation of the interview received today 23 feb.

I wonder should i expect one more letter then... 😝

If ur talking about original no but copy of any evidence IO can keep it and add to file u already sent ..my evidence folder was organized and had like 800 pages so IO said i wont be able to keep it becoz its heavy .theres no way u can tell yes or no but always have it ready like they gonna keep it

Notarized affidavit of residence 

Advance heathcare directive 

Power of attorney 

all these forms are available online they different for every state i would advise all to do this .IO will take these evidence very seriously 

it helped for my interview

The landlord at me on the lease. N i have our joint celephone bill.
