I'm literally so bored that I'm constantly checking timelines for EAD/AP approvals LOL!! I wish there was a way we could do weekly approval graphs for November soon, just like K1's. If I was smart enough I'd volunteer to do this/if it was even possible

It would be a fruitless endeavor as ppl rarely update their timelines this time around

If you get your GC I think you might have to go into the SSA office yourself to apply for your SSN because the request for one was only on the EAD application form, but I'm not 100% on that.

When is your interview? If it is soon you might be okay, if it is a month away then it might be a little risky, I don't know the consequences for late filing or how long it takes for your SSN to come through once you have received your GC.

You may already know but with an ITIN you have to send off your Passport or other important official documents (or get copies certified by a Tax agent - highly recommend it rather than sending the originals off), and it can take 60 business days for them to send the documents back to you (you file ITIN at the same time as your tax return so don't worry too much about the sixty days).

It's all speculation on my end though; I have no SSN either so will have to go the ITIN route; there's no way I'll have my GC interview in time, even if the status changes today.

Thanks!  oww that sucks to apply again for SSN...interview is March 13th.  Don't think the EAD will arrive before that...hmmm

I know it's so frustrating as it's a simple thing to do and it means the world for those waiting to see their timelines go down. I remember, once we first filed our timeline was dated mid April and now it's constantly 1-7th May.

I haven't checked mine recently, I'm scared that if I do it'll be something awful 😂

Soooooo either wait for your GC or apply for an ITIN in person at a local IRS office so you dont have to give up your passport. Or ask for a filing extension for your taxes. Or have your spouse file his taxes seperately and then amend them after you receive your SSN.

Thank you.  Yes will have to decide what to do...

If I even look at AOS timelines for Vegas, it shows last approval was end of Nov 2018, which was for a case September 2017 (I think). Nothing after that, which I'm sure there must be a few on VJ that have had their GC interviews since then. I always update as and when to give others hope whether that is for decrease in timelines etc

Yeah, mine will be a couple weeks ahead then; my NOA1 was dated November 9th, so I guess mid-late April? Or rather...I HOPE mid April. 😂

I can get paid for looking after sister in laws kids from end of May, so I don't mind my VJ timeline. But I would want to get it beforehand so I am 'legally' working

My personal accountant for the past 6 years just informed me he doesn’t specialize in immigrant filing for taxes and that I should find someone else for this year. Where have you guys had good luck? Has anyone used turbo tax and done it themselves?

Hello Everyone,

I have been reading everyone's post every day for the past 4 months and this is a great community. Taking in consideration that what we all want care about here (our processing time). After reading all the different forums and thousands of posts I think that no one really knows. I see in my local office timeline a person says 2 months after filling got an interview. Some other people in the chat talk about 17 months and nothing they are still within processing time. I think we are treating this process as something standard but it is not. I only remember the ton of paper I send in and the fact that there must be like 4-5 pounds of paper in there. For example on the phone USCIS told me that my fingerprints background check was finished in 2 days. The majority of people in this chat say that their status says Fingerprint fee received after 150 days. I dont want to sound like a pessimist but this is the process that we have to go through follow up weekly with calls to make sure everything is in line. Check updates online and in a few months or even a year this will be just a memory.
