I personally think you shouldn't expedite another job offer. I think they'll get the point. I mean they are probably up to their eyes as many do try their luck with expedites. I think you should just be a little more patient lol. Think of all us non expedites having to wait forever :P

Haha I get your point, I'll definitely try to be patient. It's just that the job offers are extremely good and it would be terrible to lose out on either one. I have already stopped job hunting due to how slow USCIS seems to process applications.

Hopefully, it'll come soon for you! Your in the system and they will review your expedite in due course! Hope you'll get it approved :)

Hi guys,

I have a question, pretty odd situation though. I requested expedited advance parole based on medical reasoning about three weeks ago. There was no status change online on my USCIS account. No mention of my SR on my online account. I couldn't track the status of the parole. I called USCIS multiple times and was told that a letter asking for evidence was sent on Jan. 19th for the service request. I never received anything till date but faxed my evidence on the number that USCIS agent gave me on Jan. 25th. I called again multiple times but was told that there is no update on the request and was asked to wait.

Today, I went for my infopass appointment and got proved for single entry emergency advance parole for 30 days at Seattle office today.

I have following questions:

1. Will my SR for expedited parole be denied as emergency parole got approved? The field officer told me that issuance of emergency parole at the field office is independent of the expedited parole request since that is a different service center.

2. The field officer couldn't see my service request for expedited parole through her system. Does this mean that my service request was never submitted? Also why I am not able to check it online through USCIS account? Whenever I call USCIS, they can check my SR. It's a pretty confusing situation of who can view which information.

3. I asked the officer that can I keep following up on my expedited request since God forbids if something happens and I have to extend my stay as in that case my emergency parole might  expire. She said yes you can do that.

I really want to keep my expedited parole request open in parallel because I want to be prepared for the worst case scenario in which I might have to extend my stay. Is it possible?

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I have a question about WIC, maybe you guys will be able to clear it for me. We are experiencing financial difficulties and my safety net I transfered here is all gone by now. We are hoping to get approved tomorrow at the interview, and if it goes well I can start working as soon as possible to add to our budget. I've read and heard that appying for any benefits may decrease chances of getting a GC or being denied later if we decide to apply for citizenship. Is this really so and we shouldn't do it? Or is it more or less safe to do for a short period of time? Did anyone apply for any benefit while waiting for a GC?

Thank you in advance

I'm not going to expedite as my sister-in-law is hoping I'll have my EAD by end of May so she can pay me to look after her kids for all summer break. It should be gorgeous weather here by then hopefully. So for me, I don't want to do anything aside right now but get my DL which is keeping me busy enough LOL!! Although, the extra cash beforehand would be nice! One can dream :P

Hahaha that's great! You're getting a taste of the DMV experience I see. It can be quite annoying but it will all be worth it in the end👍

I have a limited experience with expedite advance parole but maybe it can help you.

I requested an advance parole in September for a family loss. They gave me a referral ID and the in the next days got an email asking me to fax them proofs (it went really fast), which I idid then I didn't heard of them for a couple of weeks. I called them and the officer advised me to fax it again and send a paper request too.

I faxed again (I guess the way I entered the phone number was wrong the first time) and this time it took a couple minutes for the fax to be sent. I got another email the next days saying they got the proofs and were going to review them. Unfortunately my applications were rejected a few days later because of a bounced check and the expedite was void.

I would advise you to try to fax it again because it doesn't always work.

Thanks for the reply :)

I faxed the first time through FedEx in 25th Jan., it took like 20 mins because there were 18 pages. I was told that it's an international number since it starts with 816 and the FedEx agent added '1' as code before the number. After the fax was done, I got the paper verification from FedEx that fax has been successfully sent. I never received any confirmation email from USCIS to date. Called USCIS multiple times but no update. There is no way for the agent to know if the documents were received until the officer adds a response.

i sent all the documents again yesterday with UPS. It went through in 5-6 mins this time. The fax number the agent added was starting with '1' again and also got the paper verification from UPS that fax has been successfully sent. Nothing received from USCIS yet.

what do you mean by paper request? I didn't get that part.

He told me to send the documents by regular mail, I think it was to the NVC.

We just came from the interview. Everything went really fast and smooth. The officer didn't ask for anything apart from our IDs. Asked all these questions from the form we sent ("Are you a member of a terrorist group?" and such) checked how well I know my husband's name and DoB, and my husband about my DoB and my parents names. Then he also asked if we were married or have kids and wanted to know how we met. It took no more than 10 minutes in total. He finally said that he would recommend our case to be approved and that there was everything they will need, so we should just wait for the card to be sent within a month or so.
