Vegas drivers I find aren't generally the greatest/best drivers I've ever seen (not meaning to sound disrespectful to any Nevadans). Many do illegal maneuvers and are super aggressive in comparison of what I'm used too. Haven't even had the nerve yet to use the highways. They petrify me.

Floridians aren't much better! Distinct lack of indicator action around where I live! The right on red terrifies me; I hired a car for the first couple weeks I was out here, and kept forgetting it was a thing :(

Not going to lie, though - definitely appreciating the Florida weather a bit more than the UK. ;) My husband thinks it is cold here at the moment and I'm debating shorts!

Vegas weather is hitting 60's at moment but think it's due to go down into 50's next week. I guess we are luckier than some other states at the moment who are having horrible weather.

A few weeks ago while my husband was Skyping with his parents he was going on about how the weather was so nice for being January. Two days later we got 6+ inches of snow. The following week we got another 4 inches. This morning when I left for work the wind chill was -25 F. Apparently the UK is in a "deep freeze" warning with it only being 23 F there so all of his friends got a Facebook rant.

For you British ex-pats:  Cost Plus/World Market has loads of British foods, tea, chocolate etc.  Also:  Amazon.  I have ordered jaffa cakes and English crisps, and it is my source for Yorkshire Gold tea and vegemite for my kiwi spouse.

I make breakfast for dinner a lot, so every time I do he gets a can of beans from World Market. There is also a store call Redcoats on the rich side of KC. We ending up buying two single bags of Fortnum & Mason Wedding Breakfast tea, but they were on clearance so thats all we got. Matt was also excited they had Nurofen, but was outraged at the price and that if he wanted to buy any that he would have to drive 20 or more miles one way.

I wish the Heinz baked beans were not so expensive compared with other brands!

My husband isn't a fan of Heinz - or at least, not the ones in the UK. I found PG Tips and Yorkshire tea at World Market, and Walkers shortbread....and Twiglets :P

Not gonna lie, the first time I tried the Heinz baked beans I wanted to throw up. It was just such a difference since I'm used to bbq baked beans at a cookout. I love them now. My younger sister wanted to make a Full English the day of the Royal Wedding last May and I told her I'd bring beans. She told me no and I brought them anyway since it wouldn't have been right. She also loves them now and is glad I ignored her. They are so expensive at World Market though. It makes me sad because I'd probably have a slice of toast topped with beans every morning before heading out to work.

I lived in England for a year when I was 17, so I came to love beans on toast early on!  I never did take to Marmite though....but I do kind of like Vegemite now.

Oh I miss Heinz - although I've only had them once in the whole time I've been here

Jake always used to say to me when he came to the UK that the prices were so cheap and I was like, "oh, not really". I fully get his point now being in the US. A lot of things are way more expensive here and you compare in your head thinking well I could get this so much cheaper in the UK! Thats how it is for me anyhow-always comparing US and UK prices :P

I miss the £1 vegetables and sweets. Can’t even eat healthy stuff anymore. Every time I shop for tomatoes or any vegetables I feel horrible - $4-$5 per punnet!!!

So expensive! 😣😞

It depends what state you live in I guess. A 4L jug of milk in GA is $1.52. I would pay over $5 in Canada (and that's $4US). Veggies are really cheap here too.

I am sure there are states that stuff is pretty cheaper than here in WA. We lived in Maryland two years ago, and it was a little cheaper than here. Gas price is higher than Maryland. I could go to Walmart, but it is far away and my husband works 9am to 1:30am. Stuck until I get my driving licence. 🥺 I wanted to walk to the store but my husband 😒says people here don’t do that and won’t recommend as it wouldn’t be so safe for me.

I was used to walk so much in U.K., public transport was always available to me, haven’t drove a car for 7years now.

But oh well, got to try and adapt 😁

My husband won't let me walk either - same reasons. It's just not the done thing...so now I'm getting out of shape instead

They sell pg tips at target, 4.49 a box of 40. Not sure if it’s worth it or if it’s the same but the box says “England’s #1 tea”.
