How is your hunny driving legally?

He was able to get a drivers licence in our state prior to getting a green card. He doesnt have much time that its still valid, but I'm going to use that to my advantage while I can.

My husband was also able to get a drivers license here in WA pretty easily. He had an international drivers license that was good for a month or so (not that it expired, but the DOL advised switching to a WA license as soon as he could). He had to take a written exam, driving test, and show proof of marriage, international passport, proof of residency, SSN....after that he was given a WA license valid for 5 years, I believe.

Hi! I will apply for the driver license in Tacoma soon. What did you use for the proof of residency?

He was able to use our joint lease - I added him to the lease as soon as he moved here. If you dont have a lease, I would see if you could be added to something like a utility bill.

So I submitted a service request to have my NOA1 mailed to me because I didn't receive it. The response I got was that my case is ready to be scheduled for an interview. That's great but I just want my original notice guys! :'O

#Priorities all wrong. :P

On the email I received the address was from my local office, though, so I guess my application has made it there already? Jacksonville has been pretty quick in the past going by other case status' so hopefully I'll get my interview soon...

ROC Timeline:

Date format is MM/DD/YY

05/16/19 - Green Card Issue Date

03/10/21 - Sent ROC paperwork to Phoenix, AZ | USPS 2-Day Shipping

04/07/21 - NOA1 Text Messages Received

Did you request your notice from here:

Yes, those were the instructions on the case status notification - I followed those so I'd have a paper trail. Of course, I only received the response today, so I'm hoping I'll get either a physical copy of the response in a few days (I've started to think that maybe it's just a default courtesy response to update you while you wait - or am I thinking too highly of USCIS... :P) or I will have to wait until next week to try calling for a new notice. I've had other correspondence from them through the mail, my biometrics appointment was delivered fine, and I've had letters from other people...but a few of my friends from nearby neighbourhoods have said it isn't uncommon for things to be returned without a delivery attempt which is terrifying.

I'm mostly just curious. I was half expecting to get an RFE or something by now. My husband meets the threshold for support, but he only received that job in June of last* year and previous paychecks and tax returns show a much lower income. We send his paystubs and a letter in addition to the tax return but I've seen people having to find sponsors for far less. We do plan on taking extra evidence (his pay stubs since we sent the application etc) to our interview when we get one, in case that's an issue but...eh.

Sorry, I'm talkative today! 😅

(Edit: We're in 2019 now and I forgot :) )

So do you think if I send a request to they might tell me where my application is now? Even if I got the NOA1 and my biometrics are done I still don't have any status update since my case was received. What do you guys think?

Or you might get an additional copy of your NOA1 🤣 It took a couple service requests to get my answer though 😕

I think that's an "I think they will ignore the sh_t out of you". What makes your case any different than anyone else waiting who has received zero status updates? An SR is for when you've passed the processing dates.

Hmmm, my assumption was always when your 'case is ready to be scheduled for an interview' that means the NBC is done with it and has passed it onto your local office? Right. Seems logical that way but maybe I'm wrong.

Yeah probably, I’ll just give them a call early February to try to know if it has been moved to the local office.

Yep but my case status never updated since they got the application, not even after the biometrics 2 moths ago. This tracking system is a pain in the butt when it’s not working.
