Got hubby's AP document today.  So now he can travel (not that we need to at the moment.) If anyone was wondering they do issue it separate from the EAD, I'm guessing since ours got mysteriously separated from the AOS & AP documents and registered as being received 18 days later.  So I don't know if he will get a combo card since he already as the AP document. I rather wonder if they even bother with the EAD since our interview will likely be within a week or two of when they would get around to approving it.

No combo card for you guys, ead will be separated because you already got you ap. Ead will be trrminated Only after official GC approval. Sometimes you dont get approval on the spot.

Thank you !😀

I honestly do not even hope for a quick interview. Simply, I hope that after my documents already in LA they will give me EAD/AP.
As Tier 2 said, I did not receive EAD/AP because I received RFE on I- 485 , and now, when the obstacles are no longer there,  they finally will give me combocard. I hope.😀

I'm at 202 days of waitinh today with no activity.   It's been 164 days since my fingerprint review was done and like everone else I really need my EAD/AP soon.   My case "is being worked on" (yeah right)  at National Benefits Center and they'll "notify me once they've made a decision or need anything from me".  Does anyone know if I'm going to have to wait for my i 485 to move to "ready to schedule for an interview" before I would receive my combo card?  I've filed concurrently at Chicago Lockbox.  i485, i765, i130, i131.  Receive date Nov 23 2018.   Thanks

Unfortunately, no one can give you a specific answer to your question. You need to wait until you can put request about Outside Normal Processing Time for your EAD/AP.

https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/home

For now it is 6.5 -8.5 months.  You can put request if date when your case was recieved before 6 October. For today you are in normal processing time.  It is possible that you will be lucky and you will not need to wait for this period.

If you have reasons to speed up yours EAD/AP you can call 800-375-5283

I know! I actually tried going back the same day since I had to paper from SS office but they said they needed to actual card. I thought that was stupid. What can we do though? It’s the law haha

Yep. He went to the SS office the next day and told me that the employee who helped him said they get this all the time and he’s sick of people coming from that particular MVC for it. Ha!

Okay so I saw somewhere (but cannot remember where) that if you get an RFIE for the i485, it delays or puts on hold the i131/i765 whilst they wait to look at the submitted evidence. Well, when I was talking to a Tier 2 the other day I forgot to put in my post about the phone call that I actually asked about this rule, and they confirmed it to be nonsense. If you get an RFIE for AOS, it wont affect your EAD/AP processing time and vice versa. She just said my processing time with my EAD/AP was just slow due to the huge back log, not because of an RFIE with AOS.

Hope this helps someone

How long from approval of AP did travel document arrive in the mail? My husband has a trip planned and were hoping he doesn't have to delay it any further than it already has been.

203 days <_<

Husband told his family he won't be coming home for the trip we had planned at the beginning of July. I kept thinking that the combo card will get approved "tomorrow", but after so many tomorrows I've given up hoping. Can't even hope that our interview will be scheduled either, since Seattle takes 18-24 months. I'm so frustrated, especially reading that people who filed recently are getting their cards in a few months. Maybe I should stay away from those threads and just stick to my November buddies.

Sorry, just needed to vent to people who understand.

So sorry! Hugs to you and your husband.

We officially told my husband's parents last week that we weren't going to be able to come. We have shifted and have our trip tentatively scheduled for October now. Its especially frustrating because when we all filed there was so logical reason that we'd still be waiting at this time.

I've only been looking at the October and November threads because anything sooner makes me depressed.
