I do find consolation knowing we are not alone.

After the disappointment from our interview, I cried for two days in a row; the long weekend of celebration we planned was spent locked at home, with our spirits completely crushed.

Needless to say, I do not feel welcome at all. And I hate the idea of this process basically being a gamble, instead of an organized scrupulous thing you can rely on.

My husband was horrified when I told him that we might still get an RFE at this point. I was going to tell him about your situation, but then I thought better of it and just told him not to look on this website if he wants to stay sane.

I'm sorry you don't feel welcome here, this really isn't a great representation of our country. Needless to say I think that many American partners are also deeply disappointed by this process. I wish we didn't all live scattered around the country because I could really go for an AOS support group, haha.

Yeah, better not telling him, it would be another source of stress.

I was constantly looking for possible issues that could arise during the process, in order to avoid them and be prepared in case they happened.

Never stumbled upon something similar to our case, so when we were told, we were completely taken aback.

I do need a support group too. People who had never been through this are sometimes pretty insensitive, thinking there's nothing to worry about. And those who had a smooth sailing through this, simply can't grasp the struggle, the huge emotional toll.

Misery loves company, I guess. We spent most of yesterday in angry tears. I would honestly rather have done another year of long distance if it meant I didn't have to see my loved one so hopeless. Hope we all get good news soon, hang in there ❤️

I was so set on doing a K1 since he would get here quicker. Funny enough, the first time I went and visited (a year and a half after dating) Matt said "We should get married while you're here" and I declined because I had just graduated college, was three weeks away from starting my job, and wanted to feel somewhat stable before actually getting married. Whats even funnier is as my mom drove me to the airport she said "now don't go do anything like get married. I want to be there when it happens." I went back to the UK about 10 months later. Thats when we should have gotten married. Or a few months after that when he came to the US (per my mother's request of being there).

Oh well, live and learn. One day I'll write a memoir detailing all the lessons learned through this process.

While not as nearly terrible as what I've been reading here, USCIS failed to send the signature page of our I-129f when they forwarded it to the NVC. It got all the way to the Hong Kong Consulate for them to tell me they couldn't adjudicate the I-129F and it got sent back through the NVC to USCIS. USCIS is the one who made the initial approval, so they definitely lost it. We lost two months of time sending in a mere signature page. USCIS had also marked the petition for cancellation, but thankfully a supervisor looked into everything and corrected the problem.

As of April 2, 2019 we are ready to be scheduled for an interview for AOS. I'm hoping the Milwaukee office isn't too backed up. EAD came May 31 thankfully.

If it's any further consolation, 2018 reports for family based AOS applications sat at 87% approval rates. I think that's a strong indication to try to not be so worried. That's inclusive of applications refused off the bat for incorrect filing.

Our issue is that the review of our case is delayed until they get the K1 file, which was missing at the time of the interview; a request to locate it was made that very same day.

The only thing they need from your K1 file is your medical exam results. If they cant find it you'll simply have to redo your medical.

We're at 202 days today, and are beyond frustrated and fed up, so we're sending a letter to our senator to see if he can look into the status of our applications. I'm not sure if anything will come of it, but I feel better attempting to be proactive than just sit around waiting at this point. I'm hoping this will at least get USCIS to look at our case. I also hope there will be lots more November approvals this week! 🤞
