I also just reached day 180 today. 😭 This wait is driving me crazy, I can't even go to the supermarket alone because I never got a SSN and therefore no driving license.

The worst part is that I don't even care anymore and don't even want to be in the US. In the beginning I was so hopeful, but now I hate everything here. First thing I will do when getting my AP is to jump on the first plane back to Germany and visit/relax for some months there. 🙂

We don't live that far from you about 20-25 minutes away. I guess your field office, Santa Ana, too. It's good to know there is someone else in this area in this process. I tried to find people in this field office but no one replied. From your message, it seems like you still don't have your EAD. Which makes me really sad because I wanted to start to go to college from this fall so badly but it seems like it's not gonna happen in 2019. :(

Our rent is extremely high too, and the gas is almost $4/gallon. :(

Yeah ours is Santa Ana too! The processing times say up to 22 months for Green Card processing (YAY) 😔 No my husband is still waiting for his EAD too...every week I keep thinking it will be this week then its Friday again and it starts all over on the next Monday haha Just have to be patient I guess and try to stay positive 😊 School will always be there so if its not this fall maybe you can start winter quarter! Good luck with everything!

P.s I just filled up my car at $4.29/gallon Oyy Veyyy

We've received every USCIS letter exactly a week after email notifications, so I guess yours will be no different.

From what I've seen, interviews are scheduled 4 to 5 weeks after you receive the letter, so your interview might happen between June 18th and 25th.

The RFE could happen after the interview if there's an important document missing, such as the marriage certificate or the medical, but that's pretty unlikely; I've just seen those happening when the agent considers the medical expired, but it shouldn't be your case.

You have plenty of time to gather evidence and hopefully it won't be even needed. So, from now until the interview, surrender to happiness and joy. 😁

Thank you so much for your help!!! We really appreciate it!, Hehehehe once the shock wears off, we will surrender to HAPPINESS!!!

We got a pitiful response from our inquiry through our congressman asking about why we were issued our idiotic RFIE. All USCIS said was "we can confirm the case is pending". Okay fine USCIS, but not what we asked about. We literally only wanted to know why and English BC in the English language was not satisfactory for our case but I guess since that isn't a yes or no question you don't know how to answer it. Next time I'll write a multiple choice question so they can practically be spoon feed the answer 🙄

On the October board, someone who got an RFIE for their AOS called USCIS tier 2 who informed them that because their is an RFIE on that they wont look at EAD/AP until the evidence has been reviewed. Doubly foul up by USCIS in my opinion. Just puts me in a terrible mood 24/7. Tomorrow is happy hour after work so I'm going to get sufficiently drunk.

My mom is trying to get involved by poking our congress man even more (tweeting at him at 10:30pm) and sending us information about who our local government reps are. I had to explain to her last night that we're still 17 days out before being considered out of normal processing time so no one is going to pay attention to us. I do appreciate her zeal and wish I had it, but she still isn't aware that its a waiting game no matter what.

Seriously considering a letter writing campaign to my Senators to create and sponsor a bill that should guarantee a decision on EAD and AP within 90 days of filing. The NBC is in their state so they should be aware and care how bad it is. I doubt it come to fruition, but I like complaining to as many people as possible.

I can’t believe this!!! WHAT DOES THIS MEAN!!!???? Is it REAL!! OUR INTERVIEW WAS SCHEDULED!!

Frustrated and I don’t know why but after coming on VJ and seeing everyone still waiting and the numbers of days so high. I just automatically went to the USCIS app. And of course it told me nothing. Then my hand accidentally swiped down and my screen was refreshed....and now it says MY INTERVIEW WAS SCHEDULED!!! Yesterday!!! Letter in the mail with our interview date. Does this really mean we will be having our interview soon, like in the next month? I thought I read about how some said theirs said interview ready to be scheduled and have been waiting months and no word. But this actually says interview was scheduled!! We went from it saying fingerprint received to interview was scheduled! Does this really mean we will have our interview soon!!! Ohhhh please!!!! Ohhhh please!!!! 171 days waiting for work cards and that wait seems to continue....but we never once thought we would get notification about our I 485 since we live in maine and it says it is a 11-22 month wait for that. But my screen says our interview was scheduled!!! Ohhhh I hope this is true!!! If this is real we will be checking our mail box every day waiting for the letter and date to arrive!! Any advice on what we should do next??

We had our interview scheduled about about a week later we got our actual letter! The appointment is almost 1 month exactly from when we got our letter! June 11th, here we come :)

Checking on the K1 threads, many have been approved in 3 months, so it seems like they're focusing on them now, maybe because of the awful delays they had with us K1 filers from 2017/2018.

Some AOS filers from my same local office got interview after 2 months of filing, while we waited 6...and I found someone who was scheduled after waiting 8 months.

So delays must be a mix of things: more scrutiny, more people filing, 5000 pages files, less personnel and not the best organization.

Now, is fixing those issues a priority? I honestly don't think so.

This is such a weird process, really. Something you don't visualize when you fall in love and decide to spend the rest of your life with someone.

I just wish there was a way to make things run smoothly and most of all, in a just, fair manner.

How crazy is that?! K-1 visa in 3 months. We waiting almost a full year!!!

Omg!!!!!! Can’t wait!!!! Had my interview in Portland OR last week Wednesday and this week my green card is here!! I never got AP or EAD. Whole process from application to interview took roughly 180 days. I have booked my ticket, going on vacation immediately to recover from this process that shook me emotionally.

As always I wish you all the best, I want us to all be happy and successful. 🙏🏻

I was nervous too until we got called into the interview room and met the most friendly officer. It was more of a conversation rather than a grilling interview session. Lasted all of 20 minutes. We are going to San Juan, PR for some sun and sand. I’m excited. Your time is coming too!! 👌😁

Can anyone direct me on what is needed for the interview? I’m guessing the letter will tell us...but is there a list somewhere with what needs to be brought. I realize it’s a month from now but my husband wants to get ready for it, since he has nothing else to do at home while he waits 😂😜

The same happened with a girl last year. I barely know her but we have a common friend and she told me the story. In our country, you get the Birth Certificate in 3 languages (our language, English, and French). The USCIS sent her an RFE after the interview!!! The IO said she needs to send her birth certificate again but translated to be English with a certified translator!!!

USCIS makes me want to bang my head against a wall.

They acknowledged we sent "an English translation of a foreign BC" and basically said they needed an photocopy of the original language from the correct authority. But there is only one place in the UK that does BC. And again... original language. So its not like they could even be like "oops! we lost it!" because they stated they knew we sent it!
