We live in Maine, a small state and a small USCIS but it takes just as long as some of the big cities I’m seeing. Each state is different.

Each field office is different. Some states have multiple field offices with very different processing times (Houston and Dallas are two of the slowest offices; the rest of Texas is pretty much fine. Some of the LA and SF area field offices are also among the slowest; the rest of California is pretty much fine). Some field offices cover people in multiple states (for example, everyone in West Virginia goes to the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania field office).

Just wanted to add something, but cannot edit previous post.

We filed everything at the end of September. So we kind of fall into both October (because that's when they received everything) and than once again November - when the status changed to schedule for interview. Should we count 211 days or 170, just curious?

You count from your Noa1 received date. Not filing date or any status change date.

I think I'm slightly confused because the application that is at the "Fingerprint review was completed" is the work permit. The application to adjust status is at "Interview is ready to be scheduled" and the travel document is still "case was received." When I run a scan and filter it to only show I765s there are still so many "Case was received"s. Did you get your EAD yet? Did your status jump from "case was received" to "card is in production?"

LOL. My brain hurts.

You dont want to do any filtering on the case tracker app.

Most times when it changes to "new card being produced" the form type disappears completely so that's why you are likely seeing so many "case received"'s in your results....because you are narrowing down to only I765s. Search ALL. Then look for the form types that are blank near I131s. Your best guess is the blanks ones are likely I765s.

Your next possible status on each form are:

-AOS, "Interview has been scheduled"

-EAD, "New card is being produced"

-AP, no change (for some reason they don't update this one)

As we had the interview scheduled before getting EAD/ AP, those remained as case received.

Oh WOW!! Well that is news to me and makes A LOT of sense (AND makes me feel better.) Any green “card is being produced” and beyond was truly absent which made me think that literally no one near me was getting approved. Thank you!

That explains why so many say case received, maybe others like you recieved interview scheduled before getting their EAD/AP.

Thank you!! I appreciate these explanations! I was doing the same, targeting only I-765 and seeing so many case received, I thought no one was even being touched near me. But not filtering I can see a few did get answers these last few days near my case number. 🙍🏻‍♀️ Hmmmmm could we be  one of the next 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️. Well won’t get our hopes up too much but we truly appreciate the explanations you both gave. This helped clear things up a little more.

For anyone who has received their EAD/AP combo card; is the expiration date based from your NOA1 or the date it was approved?

My concern is that for some individuals with very slow LFO (17-36 months processing times) that they would be required to apply for an EAD extension if they haven't been scheduled a GC interview

I came across an article online which suggested some people received EAD which was backdated to their NOA1 (see below)

Mine is dated a year from my approval date. In some LFO's that have big backlog applying for an EAD extension is a necessity (unless you prefer not to I guess as there is no finite requirement but obv goes without saying it's advantageous lol)! My LFO is slow, so I'll for sure apply for an extension! :)

Weird, I don’t find the app either. I downloaded once already and did the scan but I didn’t want to put under more stress myself so I deleted it. And now when I search it on the App Store I don’t find it.

The name was Case Tracker for USCIS.

Lol I'm december so.... 😅It's confusing though because I go to the Dec and Jan threads and people are getting approved... Also my VJ timeline date has passed!

What's the precise name of this app? I have an iphone and typed Case Tracker in the app store and a bunch come up, none with that exact name...

I wrote to Case tracker and they responded with this..... “It’s Apple.. they removed all USCIS case tracking apps. We are working with them to try and get it back. Android version is still available.”

Just in case anyone is curious why they can’t find the app

If i have this tracking app, is it working? should I forget about this app or is it fine?

Thank you @jakejon

For those of us with slow LFO's and big backlogs, the thought of going through all this again is 😤😤🤯

If the processing times remain at 5-7 months; does that mean you'll be completing an application for EAD extension within 6 months time? 😶

Makes me want to poke my eyes out at the thought of re-applying for an extension LOL. I probably will some stage in October I think. Hopefully, they reduce processing times back down to 4-6 months.

Vegas is currrently running 13.5-19 months I think, so I'd hope to have an interview by the time this EAD expires as I'll be running around 17 months then. Things could change as we know and Vegas could delay GC interviews even further.

Either way I'll be applying for an EAD extension to cover myself for sure!
