Haha no worries! Congrats on EAD too! Was it Combo?

Yeah I applied for both EAD/AP. I only got update on old app for EAD, no update on AP (but I think that's normal). No updates on new site yet.

What is the old app that you were updated on? I didn't realize that the older system had an app!

Hello Everyone...

I have a suggestion for everyone still waiting for EAD (November).

I called USCIS on Monday (April 8th) and requested to be transferred to Tier2, but they were busy/unavailable according to the Customer Rep. and advised I call back the next morning. On Tuesday (April 9th), I called in the morning and after about 30 minutes, the Cust. Rep. picked, transferred and I requested for Automatic Callback from Tier2 Officer. The Officer called me back after 2 hours and I explained the reason I called...'I filed since November last year and I'm so in need of my EAD because I would love to apply for my DL, renew my state ID and able to move around and not just be stuck at home. Also, I can see January being approved while November is left behind.' He explained the Timeline and how all cases are different. I agreed about all cases being different, but...'doesn't mean my case is faulty. I applied for EAD with AOS and I know I didn't make any mistake during the application. So, if there's any mistake, it's better I get a response from y'all instead of absolute silence and abandonment of my file'. I told him that was just the reason I called, bid goodbye and cut the call.

On Wednesday (April 10th), I got a Notification of 'New Card is being Produced'.

Give them a call and explain your situation. You've got nothing to lose.

Thank you for this! I'm doing it right the heck now.

You have to go through a zillion options before you actually speak to a live person, so don't get discouraged. Right now I'm in the 138-minute estimated wait time for Tier 2 to call me back.

So I just got off the phone with a Tier 2 officer. I was thrown off by how genuinely kind and calming this man was....dammit I was prepared to get mad and yell at someone! 😉 He told me exactly what I expected to hear anyway - that there is nothing wrong with our application and wait times are now 5-7 months. He actually apologized profusely for these processing times, and told me they simply don't have the manpower available to process the many many applications they currently have. What could I say? He told me to expect another 30-45 days max (I said, "okay....woof"), then apologized again and told me he knows how important this is to us. I said thank you, he wished me a good weekend, and that was that.

Hahaha...it was a damn maze...let me see if I remember...

I think it was 2, 2, 1, 6....I definitely remember 6 was the one to speak to a live person after a VERY long message about using the USCIS website to answer most questions. Sorry this is vague, but I took a shot in the dark for most of my choices and don't remember them well.

I just called USCIS customer service because I’ve had some issues with changing my address, and the lady I spoke to was sooooo helpful. While discussing the problem she said “I can see action was taken on your case but I can’t tell what it is yet” as well as saying “since the address won’t update fully for 30 days, I advise you keep an eye on the old address mailbox as I would assume other action will be taken within the next few days” idk whether that’s her being nice, knowing something I don’t or giving false hope, but still.

In the midst of everyone getting EAD and interviews, the following just happened:

My phone goes off. I see its an email from my dad. Matt does not.

Me: Wooooo!

Matt: What? What is it? Interview scheduled?

Me: No! I won the family March Madness competition!

Matt: You got my hopes up and ripped them away. Yes, Im going to be bitter the rest of the night.

I am still salty about this, and will remain salty until our case goes from 'RFIE was received' to 'Interview scheduled'

Wouldn’t that be awesome!

It’s been such nice evening after reading all the good news, award acceptance speeches and best wishes. This thread is truly like entering a realm of solace.

I’m not a sports fan whatsoever, but I feel the joy of our team wining.

Yes! I was thinking the same thing, have a grand meet up/get together where we can drink, eat and look back at all the waiting and anxiety the USCIS put us thru and finally get to laugh about it. hehe.

Heck yeah! I've been wondering about it for a couple of months now and I think it would be a lot of fun! We could share our tales of woe in waiting and how much weight we all gained (except somehow I've lost 20lbs lol?) and laugh at how horrific the process was 😂. @rrobin0609 and I think it'd probably be worth really considering whenever we have a legit house in the future since we're in the midwest, it'd be a relatively balanced travel distance for y'all if we hosted.
