If I remember correctly our interview happened within a month of getting that notice in the mail! Good luck with the interview!

Maybe this is weird but after getting my EAD and condtional GC approval (card is being produced!), I feel kinda more depressed than normal. After I left my K1 interview (incredibly friendly and polite IO) I felt relieved and happy, but I now don't feel any relief at all. Maybe it was the IO at the AOS interview or maybe I'm just being a weirdo, but I don't feel welcome in the US at all. I can't really put my finger on it as to why though.. Could just be in my head. Shrug.

So sorry to hear 😞 .  What sort of community do you live in?  Any local groups/interests you could join?

We live in my native Seattle, which is so notorious for being unfriendly to newcomers, we have a colloquialism for it:  "Seattle freeze."  My husband is from NZ.  We are both introverts, but lately he has found a sense of belonging with the local rugby community (rugby is LIFE in NZ!), refereeing games   He also just got a job working at a company he really respects.  It has not been an easy six months, however.  Best wishes and hugs.

December filer here lol. Guys, when you get your Card is being produced notification, did you receive phone text also? Or just checked your case status?

If you signed up for email/text alerts on egov.uscis.gov then you will.

I hereby petition we all do a meeting somewhere when we've all done our oath ceremonies and have beers and foods from our collected countries!

Yes! I was thinking the same thing, have a grand meet up/get together where we can drink, eat and look back at all the waiting and anxiety the USCIS put us thru and finally get to laugh about it. hehe.

153 for me, please send over some too :(

This entire time I’ve been going off of my USCIS case status app on what day I’m on. I’m in fact on day 157 (Filed on Nov 6, NOA on Nov 9) - damn

Hey! I noticed that a while back and forgot to change that. Don’t know why it was checked as no. I’ll change that now you’ve reminded me lol. Thanks 🤣

I'm honestly not really 100% as to why, I guess I'm just tired of people questioning why I'm here. I've had multiple people ask me if I'm just here for the green card, my sister in law (whom I've only seen once) thinks I got married for the GC, my aunt in law (whom I've never seen) tells me "It doesn't matter if that's why you're here" (what does that even mean??) and I've had multiple fights with my mother in law haha. I can't read between the lines and she can't deal with my Dutch/European honesty and just calls me rude hahaha.

For some reason a lot of people assume I'm just here for the green card and I have no clue why. It's not like we're Esméralda and Quasimodo. 😂 It's kinda funny because all of my friends and family back home thought I was crazy for moving to the US because "who would want to live there?!" lol.

I also just can't help but feel like we've 'wasted' a lot of time. I'm at the time in my life where I would like to start a family, and with all the immigration stuff going on we just can't. I can't say we're struggling financially, but I'd imagine throwing a baby in the mix would make things a lot more difficult. It also makes me kinda sad when I think about the fact that my family won't be around.

I don't know, I think I just underestimated the whole immigration process. 😛

@Jorgedig I definitely feel you on the introverts part haha. My husband is military and 99% of his friends were all military who recently retired and moved away, so its been a struggle for both of us haha. We are both major introverts which I suppose is a blessing and a curse at the same time lol. I don't feel the need to be around people all the time and I don't need a ton of friends, but a few would be nice and making friends is so hard haha. I'm happy your husband found a sense of belonging, rugby sounds really cool!

Sorry about the rant, and sorry if it seems kinda all over the place. Just been in a blah mood lately. I really shouldn't complain because my K1 process went pretty fast, I guess maybe I only just realized that "hey #######, I really did move halfway across the world and its official now" 😆

It makes perfect sense. Going through all the hassle of filing forms, paying fees and waiting for approvals is so distracting, that we set aside for a while, all the implications of immigrating to another country.

As you say, now you got the GC, you're officially beginning your new life. And that's not easy.

Unfortunately, not everyone understands the difficulties. And that's why they ask those very annoying questions, that just contribute into alienating us even more.

Personally, that's what distresses me the most: how unaware others are of the negative effect their assumptions and misconceptions have on us; they don't realize how they make the adjustment into this whole new environment more difficult.

Sometimes I try to sensitize them, but others, I'm so tired that I give up.

I bet none of us foresaw this complex and convoluted process when we fell in love with our now spouses. Takes time for everything we go through to sink in.

So maybe that's why the USCIS leaves us in limbo for so long; so we can have PLENTY of time to adapt. :P

You had a tiring day. After months of waiting, everything concluded in a few minutes of interview. You need a good rest and some vacation back home. 😊💚

Trying to pull the data updates for the 500,000 however I'm being told that the MySQL server has gone away. That might be the end of collecting data that way. Might just have to try collecting it from the app again until I get a ddos error on both wifi and data. If I do it that way, the sample size is going to be much smaller.

@jakejon I guess visajourney timeline did not fail. Their prediction was correct.

I was literally saying yesterday to someone on vj that my timeline was correct for k1 but don't think i'll make it for EAD/AP. Guess in the end my timeline did prove correct :P
