Don't forget to include what you ended up wearing for the interview. Was it some ragged dress to show the struggles of AOS filers? :P

😂😂 All I fit into now are stretchy yoga pants!! No Cheetos stains so I'll count that as a win!

We got the standard security stuff questions. He also asked my husband the name of my parents (he forgot my mom's name lol), my birthday, how many times I've been married.. asked us when we met for the first time, asked me where my husband was born and his birthday. He seemed confused about my ESTA, he didn't know what it was. On my old i-94 my submitted class was WT which is esta/waiver for tourists (tbf I didn't know what WT was either and googled it when we left the building) and he grilled me on that for a bit because I said I only ever had an esta and K1 visa and he didn't seem familiar with WT. I have no clue whether he was playing dumb or not haha, after he kept asking me about it he suddenly said "well don't worry about it".

He didn't take our city hall ceremony pictures, said they weren't helpful. 😂 He told us to have another wedding ceremony before removal of conditions, and to have more stuff like my name on the mortgage, car insurance, etc. After he said he is going to recommend us for approval he quickly stated we're not out of the woods yet and I can still be deported when removal of conditions comes around. I think he was trying to scare us? He said they have a tip line so our neighbors could call them if they think we're frauds, we might get a random home visit to see if we're legit, etc etc. I could even be a lesbian! Apparently it has happened before. 😂

The only documents he asked for was my EAD, SSN, interview notice and ceremony pictures.  He took copies of everything but our useless city hall ceremony pictures 😂 he didn't ask for other proof but we handed him a copy of our joint bank account and a recology letter addressed to both of us.

I'm just happy we got recommended for approval and I hope it goes through soon haha. I had no clue where that interview was gonna go, he was pretty stern. As soon as we left the office he was very friendly though.

After seeing my enormous file on his desk I understand the huge backlog they have. It even contained the old envelopes we sent our forms in!

Hahaha when my time comes I’ll probably wear an old clothing of mine that is now a tight fit so they can see the amount of weight I gained while I twiddle my thumbs waiting for them to process my applications. Hehehe 🤨

Matt told me he's lost probably about 20 pounds since moving here. But I've gained about 10 in the same time frame :jest:

OMG! That sounds like a terrifying interview! Half the stuff the guy said to you sounds like he's trying to play bad cop without the good cop being in the interview. Also, another wedding ceremony? That seems odd to me.

Glad you got recommended for approval!

Yeah, I got nervous just reading it! Hahaha.  I also don’t get another wedding ceremony statement.  Unless he will be the one paying for it ha hahahahah.  I better not get sassy when it’s my time. 🤣🤣

We just did a quick city hall kind of wedding and I guess he didn't like the pictures.. Maybe they weren't festive enough?? I don't know. 😂 I guess we will have a 'fancy' ceremony but it probably won't be an open bar 😂

At least you guys made it to the city hall, we got married in a room of the building where we applied for our marriage license.  To me it didn’t make sense to throw a big fancy wedding, it’s expensive and my immediate family are not here.

Haha we always tell each other how stupid we think it is to drop 20k+ on a single day. Neither of us are sentimental and I have no friends or family in the US so I honestly don't care for a wedding.. oh well

I had my InfoPass on Tuesday, my appointment was for 8:45am at USCIS. I left early since it's a 50 minute drive and got there for about 8:10am. Went in, friendly airport style security as usual and they just told me to go check in at the desk. I got seen straight away at 8:15am, half an hour early. Why oh why can't the rest of this process be that fast?

Anyway, I explained the situation and reason for expedite on AP and the lady explained she'd be happy to expedite but that there shouldn't be an immediate need (I explained I was aiming to go in June). She told me there's no good reason why I wouldn't have my Green Card in hand by mid-May. She did say I could pay to expedite AP, about $500 and re-send the AP again OR if I don't have GC by June 1, she said she'd do an 'emergency expedite' on AP.

I also talked to her about my RFIE for AOS in regards to my English Birth Certificate that was apparently a translation, I showed her my RFIE and my Birth Certificate. She showed the officers behind her and they scratched their heads and had a chuckle with me about the stupidity of the RFIE. They also said not to worry, someone at the NBC probably lost it. Crisis averted, hopefully in the next 6 weeks we have ALL had interviews OR have them scheduled.

Exactly!!! I’d rather save that kind of money for a house.  Congratulations!!! No more stress until ROC time.
