Hard copy approval notices received; still waiting for the online status to update for my card to be sent out though. Does anyone know how long that can take? This process appears to have made me a little impatient.

I got the approval notices on March 28th.. still waiting for an update or something in the mail... 🤷

Started my call with USCIS at 7:03am CST. "You're wait time will be 1-3 minutes". It picked up to their tier 1 officer immediately. I explained the BC issue and she escalated my call. "You're wait time is 5-10 minutes". After an hour of sitting on hold some guy picks up and asks me my name and date of birth.

Him: Are you calling for yourself or someone else?

Me: I'm calling on behalf of my husband

Him: Is he with you?

Me: No, because I have to be at work. And guess what!? He can't be with me at work because he can't be employed because you all are slow

Him: *sits in silence for about 30 seconds* I need his authorization to discuss the case

Me: I got his authorization before I left for work

Him: I need to hear him say it

Me: Well, he can't because he's not here.

Him: Then there is nothing I can do for you right now

Me: So you're gonna let me sit on hold for an hour last night and an hour this morning and then go 'sorry we wasted your life'? Just like with how long this ******** process is taking?

Him: *More silence*

Me: Why did someone say they were going to escalate my call if they knew you all couldn't do anything if my husband wasn't present with me?

Him: *30 seconds of silence* I don't know
Me: You need to provide better training. That should have been told to me immediately rather than wasting my day.

Me: *hangs up*

If any of you all ever wanted to yell at USCIS, I got you already.

Let's not abuse the people who work for USCIS. It's not their fault we have to wait so long.

Try working for a call center and see how it feels to get bitched at for something that's not your fault 🤷‍♀️

I do.... IT Support for hospital software. Nothing like being yelled at by a doctor every Monday morning for something I don't have any control over because I just happen to not be a software engineer.

I was only frustrated with them and told them they shouldn't have let me sit on hold for an hour when the person I was connected to in under 30 seconds knew my husband wasn't with me and therefore should have known no one would be able to discuss his case with me. I have been in that position at work and I can at least say "I apologize that this is happening. I will reach out to someone who can better assist your needs and we will follow back up to you by the end of the day. Does that work for you? Is email or phone better to reach you with?" Instead I get "I don't know why they did that. There is nothing I can do for you." They don't have good customer service. What they should have done was say "I'm sorry but the first person you spoke to was mistaken, but I have to have your husband present when talking about his case. Is there a phone number I can reach him at?"

Just my opinion, but saying "I'm sorry" goes a long way for me. It says a lot about someone's character no matter what job they do.

Oh, I also worked a summer in a warehouse. We just housed the products and didn't market them. I had a lady call us because the company that she bought from gave her our phone number since we were processing her return. She had bough a swimsuit size small and ranted to us for 15 minutes because it was too small for her and her grandkids had never seen her in anything that wasn't a size small. I don't think her grandkids acutally cared what size she was wearing, but it was funny to listen to.

i see your a san diego filer.

i have seen 2 or more november aos filers had their interview and just waiting for their interview/green card last january. interviews were jan or feb,  i have seen december aos filers have their interviews scheduled for febuary/march. all those are not expedites. i have a friend who is a january aos filer and her interview is also scheduled for may. also not expedite. so it's really odd that they haven't touched your aos. most of the san diego filers i meet on fb and fbm groupchats that are from sandy are pretty fast. they don't even get their ead/ap. i just expected everyone from sandy to be fast too like all those i've come across on the facebook aos groups. anyway, yours is probably coming soon too like all of them! thought you might want to know.

I also know about filers from San Diego getting interviews after two months of filing, while we've waited almost 5 and not even gotten an update online. That makes things way more frustrating.

The big difference here is that it's USCIS. I'm sure they don't have the time to call people at the end of the day to make sure they are satisfied. I'm just as frustrated as you are, but I imagine their workload is insane and they can't help it.

Again just my opinion, but I don't think it does make a difference. I've had 80+ service requests to work, all spanning different areas that all need investigation into workflow or the code itself. I've also been woken up in the middle of the night to consult on software issues. In my line of work if something isn't working right someone may die.

I know for a fact USCIS doesn't care how I or my husband, or anyone feels at the end of the day. Good for them, I wish I didn't care how people thought of me when I work with them. I wouldn't have even cared if they had said they'd call my husband or not. "I'm sorry, but we are unable to talk to you. Can you ask your husband call us?" Like I said above, an apology goes a long way with me. And even if you have an insane workload, it doesn't take more than two seconds to say "I'm sorry".

No problem! Yay!!! Congratulations.  Your ssn should arrive in a couple of days or a week after you get your card.  If it’s been more than a week and still no ssn, and you are feeling anxious, then just let me know and I’ll tell you what I did to track it down 🤣

It's absolutely USCIS's fault that we have to wait so long. Half of the RFE's people get are due to them losing documents all the time. Most of us paperclip this stuff together. If you're load is too much, you load balance and transfer to other offices/locations.

I worked for a call center for 3 years, and I understand how it feels to get bitched at myself. That being said, I was ALWAYS able to at least provide a simple apology rather than some ambiguous generic answer that doesn't help. When you pay the high costs we do, a simple apology would go a LONG way in improving relations. It's basic manners.
