Thanks for the input Nina. I wont do anything to jeopardize our situation. Ive been thinking for a few hours and I do recall a red light camera ticket back in 2012, and it was a hefty fine in California. Only problem is I dont know if that ticket was above $500, I just know I payed above $300. Would it be okay to state it in writing? Or do i need to pull up a criminal record from somewhere?

Sealed? Meaning some other info in the letter? Heres a pic.

@Quansah Congratulations. We received RFE on 15th March and they received it on 19th March. Hoping to hear an approval too.

Sure it should take about 2weeks from time of receipt at USCIS to get the NOA 2.

Nothing to worry about with traffic tickets unless they are of the DWI kind.

When someone is cavalier with an answer, I normally suspect that they are not well informed or they are trying to make themselves into something they are not like an "expert" comes to mind. So that there is no mistake let me share the verbiage and the link to the case that I told you about so that you can see for yourself instead of relying on someone who has not completed or had experience with this line of questioning and only gives you false hope. I'm not saying don't be concerned but if you don't recall anything then I think should be find. I only point it so that you do sit and take a moment to reflect before answering the RFE. There have been others who faced the same thing as J&R did and faced a denial.

"I failed to mention a 30 year old misdemeanor arrest that was dropped and later expunged.  It was my fault and partially the fault of the company we used to help with the petition.  The governments instructions were very clear.  The company we used was not as clear as they should have been.  Since there are no public records and no possibility of me getting any information, I assumed it was no longer an impediment.  The expungement ordered all records, digital and hard, to be destroyed.  There was no record that I could produce so I failed to add it to the petition.  That was my mistake and we were denied because of the petitioner failing to disclose information in the petition."

@John & Rose is the couple I am referring to and he can verify the process.

It doesn't just come down to whether the question was answered or not he is getting RFE because he missed the answer to that question. Sometimes people are filling documents and they question the question and go onto the next question without answer the one before. They are thinking I will look into that question and answer it later. Later never comes because they forget. The OP has questioned his history and his memory. I only wanted him to think clearly before answering. He only gets one shot at the answer. USCIS already knows what the answer is, they are just waiting to see if he does.

There is no app to answer this question with.

Record sealing is the practice of sealing or, in some cases, destroying court records that would otherwise be publicly accessible as public records. The term is derived from the tradition of placing a seal on specified files or documents that prevents anyone from reviewing the files without receiving a court order.

This conversation has reminded me of a misdemeanor that I was charged with 21 years ago. I honestly didn’t even think about it when filling out the app. A true honest mistake. I’ve never even received so much as a speeding ticket since then.

Now I am pretty bummed... Will we be automatically denied or will they send an RFE? I’m kind of sick to stomach right now.

Should I call them and let them know I made a mistake?

There isn’t much you can do. What I have heard is that a filed petition is a filed petition. They may or may not fix minor typos but that is a material change. Not everyone get hit by this. I know of a few people here that made it through unscathed after not disclosing an arrest. We weren’t so lucky. We made it through the entire process and were denied during AP.

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

To those who are wondering about the websites of USCIS. The first one to be updated for me was the "old site" the one that doesn't require the log in process. Today the new site updated as well. My experience was that both works... however it may be that it depends on the employee that is reviewing the case. I work in the government too and some co-worker don't update their cases online (because they don't feel like it). That said don't give up checking online and the mail box.  I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Lol mine is the opposite the New site was updated the Old site still hasn't and we haven't received it in the mail yet... USCIS is a crazy system wish it was more universal for everyone

Must be for real. I really think that it must be depending on a human thing than actually a system because of the different testimony for example your experience is different than mine.

Crazy. But oh well I am waiting for the Hard copy as well so we can focus on the NVC stage.

Hopefully we can get it this week!
