Hello!

I’m not sure if I chose the right thread for this question so I apologize if I did.

I just got my 2 year green card that I waited over a year for but unfortunately it has an incorrect expiration date (it expires more than a year early) so I’m having to replace it by filing I-90. Here’s my question. I need to renew my driver’s license which expires December 12th, 2018. I wanted to know if I can go ahead and use my green card to renew the license right now, more than a month before it expires. Is it possible or do I have to wait till December to renew it? I just wanted to renew the license as soon as possible so I can go ahead and file my I-90. I can’t wait too long because my green card expires in less than 6 months even though it’s supposed to in 2 years.

Thank you so much!

I would go ahead and do it now. They should renew it until your greencard stops. Afterwards, you can always renew the expiration date again. Not sure if there is any reason not to go renew it aside from paying the fee again?

This is just one opinion, and I am not 100% sure, so if someone else could add to this ...
