Your green card might expire before you get your NOA1 in your mailbox. But if you receive a text with your case number that a first step to cool down a little bit. 

They scan your file the day they receive it, not the NOA1 date. If they receive it on 11/13, that's the date you filed. You are good even if green card expires or file is sent back to you.

Guess I should stop thinking its gonna be in the mail everyday, only been waiting a week >.<

I have been noticing on some peoples time lines that they got there NOA'S in less then a week, strange lol

In the past 3-4 months nobody got their NOA1 in a week.  Most of the people updated the NOA1 date with the date they received the text/email notification.

Yes. NOA1, in this case, is the extension letter.

You're so welcome!!! Yes an uscis agent signed it when he received your package because you probably included a signature with your shipping. Many applicants don't include a signature,  just a guaranteed delivery. 

 

However,  all packages received in the uscis are always open the same day and documents are scanned with that same date for safety measures. In your case, the date scanned on your  documents would be 11/13/2018.

The first page is signed by the agent scanning the documents. Boxes and formats that don't fit are fold, some documents like albums photos are even returned back when the format doesn't fit or cannot be folded. 

 

Now what you need to make sure is to receive a text with your case number or if your check was cashed. These are signs that your application was accepted and they won't return it back  to you. If you didn't include the notification form,  you might not receive a text. In that case, you'll need to call the uscis to get your case number.

I checked my credit card and they took the money out YAY, all is good for now .

Are we still allowed to work even if the GC expires and before we get the NOA in the mail? Mine was submitted 11/3 and expires next week! 

 

It looks like some people will get a biometrics letter, while others just get an NOA with extension (I.e no need to do biometrics)?

im guessing it would be the texas one I am assuming since I live in texas, either way I cant wait till this is all over, I am ready to be done with all this paperwork lol

I would recommend speaking to your HR departments cause that's what I did and mine is set to be expires on sunday.

my supervisor is helping me to keep my job till I get the NOA letter,

I provided HR my tracking# for USCIS and the info that they took money out of my card to show my NOA is on the way.

as long as you give evidence its in the works I think you should be ok but your job could be different then mine

 

I would recommend speaking with them.

Yes, once you filed your status is extended for another 18 months. 

You get NOA1, which is the extension letter and then if USCIS decides that they can use the biometrics from AOS they will send you a notice saying that you do not need to appear for biometrics, otherwise you will get a biometrics appointment letter.
