The general advice from this community, at least as of a few years ago, is that applying for citizenship while removal of conditions is still pending "forces" USCIS to adjudicate the pending removal of conditions "immediately" so that they can process the  N-400. But things change and every case is its own case.

I'm still undecided whether to recommend that my wife apply for citizenship in November if her removal of conditions is still pending then. They still haven't even given her an extension letter.

I would say wait for your ROC  then apply for N-400.

Exactly!!!!  things are changing. Rules are changing,  processing times are getting longer and cases are getting messed up or forgotten.

Cases are not adjudicated the same way for all applicants. Each service center has its own policy with advantages or disadvantages others don't have. Each officer is different from another.

Deciding to Apply for citizenship while having a pending i751 is now a move to do with the best of each applicant's knowledge and judgment.

Things can go smoothly or get really complicated and extended.

Good luck to everyone!!!!

I'm thinking to do the same now.

I read that more than 70% of applicants with only the i751 pending have been approved without interview, compared to most applicants with 2 applications who still need a combo interview (interview on the i751 and interview on the n400) + delayed processing times.

I'm praying to receive the same notification saying:" New Card being produced " without interview.

California center seems to be faster than other centers.

So, definitely just going to wait!!!

Mailing date: 11/21/18
Case received: 11/23/18
Notification received via email and sms: 11/29/18
Check cashed: 11/29/18
Extension letter: 12/31/18
Biometrics letter: 04/22/19
Biometrics done: 04/24/19 (original appt date: 05:01:19)

I recently moved from California to Arizona And changed my address on USPS and USCIS both online. My Biometrics letter was originally sent to our California Address then was forwarded to our Arizona address.

My appointment for my Biometrics was initially in California however was able to do it in Arizona. I called USCIS and the Immigration officer said I can try going to the USCIS support center close to our Arizona location. I did that yesterday (April 24,2019) and was able to get my biometrics done without having to reschedule or wait for my original appointment date which is May 01, 2019.

Also, I am a Flight Attendant who has travelled to Cancun, Los Cabos, and Dominican Republic for work and fortunately have not encountered any problems at all. I have always used my extension letter together with my expired Greencard and things have been going smoothly for me. I totally understand how all feels about traveling in and out of the States. It scares and worries you and I just wish we can get all Greencards!

Best of luck to us all!

Btw,

Wac applicant here!

Go to USCIS https://egov.uscis.gov/e-Request/Intro.do

click did not receive notice by mail.  Fill up the application and  submit. Trust me it works.

I was waiting for six months then I did that. Finally, I got my extension letter.

Aw I did it twice, they in theory “re submitted” but still I never got. I finally made an infopass and got a stamp on my passport back in February. I have been out of the country twice with that stamp and no issues at all. Is just annoying that absolutely nothing happened after my biometrics back in December. It’s a waiting game at this point.
