I read that they usually take 5 to 7 weeks after filing but considering we had to wait longer for NOA, then maybe more than that. This week is gonna be my 12th weeks after filing and still no sign of biometric appointment. But then I read again not everyone has to do it, so I don't know.

I am hoping that I don't need one cause I did one last time n its annoying to drive all way to dallas an miss work for a biometrics, I am just hoping they will pass me n no interview either since I did one last time

i am trying to get infopass to stamp my extension paper. my field office is Montgomery , but it says " This office is not accepting walk-in requests or scheduling InfoPass appointments."

what should I do then? anyone had experience like this?

I just talked to my lawyer. they shut down Infopass. there is no way to get it stamped.

he said some people who already traveled without stamp are stuck overseas and encountered some problem getting into the US.

please share if yall have any information.

You mean people without their extension letter then? If they traveled with an expired GC and no extension letter or stamp in passport then they have not been very smart at all.

You can can ask for an info pass at another office in your neighbor state. If you are Alabama then you belong under Atlanta.

Why do you need the stamp? You can travel with extension letter.

There is a way to get it stamped. You call the service line, get to a person, explain your situation and get an appointment to get your passport stamped. People will

always need these stamps for one reason or another so they aren’t just going to stop doing it.

I am confused. I though you previously mentioned that you got your receipt notice. That letter provides you 18 months extension. So, why do you need stamp?

Did the rules change? Does CBP not accept your receipt notice as extension anymore?

yes I received my receipt notice. but some of the officers on airlines or at the boarder are not trained . so just having an extension letter without stamp will be a trouble. recently some people were stuck overseas and cannot get into the US , or had difficulties to get back to the US.

Infopass is completely shut down. USCIS sent a notice to the officers saying that the extension letter is enough. but USCIS is not the one controlling the boardere, and at the boarder or airline everything depends on the officer, and they can simply say we dont accept the extension without stamp.

and it is risky to travel with the extension without the stamp.

infopass everywhere is shut down. USCIS announced it last week.

Infopass is shut down but getting a passport stamped is not infopass, it’s considered “document services” and it’s not shut down. You just gotta call the service line to get the appointment.

although if you have an extension, they will most likely refuse to give you an appointment for a stamp.

there are just as many stories about people who have stamp but don’t have an extension letter that officers and airport workers aren’t trained blah blah blah. Stamps are actually way less common than extension letters so please breath and stop panicking, you’ll be just fine. It’s not risky to travel without the stamp if you have your GC and extension letter.
