I read that that website only works to check the receipt number we get from biometric appointment. You will get your passport stamped at infopass appointment, it's valid for a year, they will take your green card.

I don't want to forfeit my green card. What if I lost it?

You mean what if you lost your passport? It's the same just like extension letter/NOA. The difference is the extension from the stamp is shorter (12 months) while NOA is 18 months. Your green card will expires soon so it's not good for you anyway.

I just don't want to give it up. It has great sentimental value to me.

The stamp doesnt as good as a NOA anyway. Why should I have to forfeit things for their negligence?

Lol it's your choice. For me it's just a card, and I needed the stamp cause my green card was expired and I had to give my employer proof that I'm still legal to work here. If I waited for my NOA, I would've gotten into trouble.

I still haven't received my NOA, so I'm going to try to get I-551 stamp since I'm planning to travel outside of the states next month.

I was going by myself when I made an appointment, but my husband decided to come with me.

Is he allowed to enter the building with me?  I'm not sure how much strict they are.. It's going to be at Seattle office.

Thank you.

FYI - Received a new NOA from USCIS stating that they will reuse our previously captured biometrics and we do not need to reappear for new biometrics but our fee will not be refunded.

I hope this helps.

Thanks Eddy! That would be great to be notified so we can travel and in general not have to worry about missing this.

HI Eddy, Congrats on receiving a statement from the USCIS.

Did you make an e-request about biometric appoinment or notify them? I am just wondering if the USCIS will automatically send an NOA about biometric appoinment to everyone.

We only made Tier 2 and E-request for missing NOA. But when they processed our Tier 2 request they did inform us that we should expect Receipt notice in 30 days and biometrics (if needed) in 60 days.

So I can't particularly confirm if making a special non delivery request played a role in this.

Thanks

Cool 60 days ..so anywhere from 1 week to 4-5 months for a notice we may or may not receive about an appointment we cannot miss lol 😂

Yes. My husband was with me as well. No one questioned it. Security didn't even ask me anything.

Did you try to submit online e-Request? Just go to: https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do

I did exactly that and received NOA. Hope it helps!

Just did. Thanks. Wish I had known of this earlier.

Hope to see the NOA in the mail before Feb 12. I DO NOT want to give up my GC even if it is expired.
