gc expired in less than a month- if i dont get my NOA by then, I will show HR the email that i received from USCIS stating that they are planning to send the receipt notice. I could say its taking them forever due to gov' shutdown? idk

Luckily my employer is extremely understanding in situations like this and will have my back!

Employment shouldn't be a problem. Do a self check e-verify on and you'll see your employment authorization is still good, NOA or no NOA, or stamp for that matter. If an employer has any issues, get them to do an e-verify.

Do you have an unrestricted social security card? If so, you can use that and a drivers license instead of your green card.

IM HOPING THAT THEY JUST STAMP MY PASSPORT AND CALL IT A DAY

Biometrics would not be reflected in case status though. I didn’t get NOA1 but I got my biometrics and did the appointment but my case status still says “case received, we mailed you NOA1”

That’s what I’m afraid of. My case status doesn’t even reflect that my NOA was mailed, it just tells me they accepted my biometrics fee.

Called USCIS today, said the NOA1 was mailed on 11/15, which I am sure they never did... And then the representative says they cannot resend it because USPS says they delivered it... Told me to get an infopass instead, which I just checked that there are no appointment available. Request an online non-delivery request as well, but only told me I will be scheduled a bio appointment in the future.

When am I able to resubmit a non-delivery request online?

I think you should call USCIS asap and ask what's going on.  If they already received your case, you can get your receipt number.

Thankyou! I called and they said they would mail me the extension and gave me a receipt number. I entered the receipt number on the USCIS website and it said "Validation Error(s) You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:

  • My Case Status does not recognize the receipt number entered. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the USCIS Contact Center at 1-800-375-5283."

Seems like they either provided you with wrong receipt number or you made an error while noting it.

It should start with 3 letters followed by 10 digits -- example SRC1234567890.

You should call and reconfirm.

Best of luck!

Did you use https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/   or  https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/displayLogon.do  ?

first one worked for me but second one didn't when I tried before.  I don't know why but second one might be old or something..

For infopass appointment, I couldn't find any spot available when I checked during daytime, but I could find some spots after midnight. So I think you should try and see around that time or super early morning!

Try before at 6am, 12pm and 12am. Keep refreshing your browser. I was able to get an appointment sometime around 1230am.

While you're waiting. Set your chrome browser to auto refresh. This is how I got mine but it was late at night. Around 1230am.
