I filed on Nov 14 and received the NOA Dec. 10 from Nebraska center. To the best of my knowledge, USCIS might consider your passport as an expired document. Better call and ask. One thing I remembered is when I was admitted to the US, my passport was valid for additional 9 month and they stamped it for a temporary 1 year, so they can stamp it for a year if it is expiring sooner. It doesn't hurt to call and ask before you book an appointment. Best of luck!

I will call them. and I will go to my embassy and renew my passport before taking an appointment. even though that will take at least 2-3 weeks before getting back my renewed passport.

Hoping it won't be an issue to wait that long without a stamp or the NOA.

Thank you Bassam. 🙏

@JL716 My timeline is pretty similar with yours! Did my Bio on Monday and still haven't received NOA1 (submitted the e-request for it)

Did your online case status change after you did biometrics? (mine didn't)

@ElliePro No, mine still says the same that My Fingerprint Fee was Received & they have mailed out my NOA but so far, nothing & it has been about a month & 1/2 since I sent out all my stuff.

It's weird because in most cases, I believe people get the NOA first then wait a while for the Biometrics appointment!

the waiting time is getting ridiculous now, I called them n they told me they mailed it a month ago so I told them to send me another one then, I live near the office show I should have 100% got it by now and when I try to make an appointment to get my passport stamped it shows no appointments available,

because of this mess I miss out on seeing my family for the holidays.

this is utterly disappointing and frustrating.

Thank you my friend it’s very frustrating we have to wait for so long for receipt which in the past applicants were getting in 2-3 weeks and now minimum I read on this forum around 5-6 weeks but most are getting minimum 8-12 weeks which is very frustrating some people are finding hard to renew their driving license with 12 month stamp on passport and it’s super hard to get info pass appointment

It is sad that we have to go through this. They need to provide better communication about these delays.

Good Luck all!

I read online on Facebook some people are having hard time with renewing their driving license with stamp on passport only according to those people their dmv officials want to see 12/18 month extension extension letter with green card and those people had to handover green card to regional uscis offices in order to receive 12 months stamp on their passport that’s what I read here and on Facebook it’s what I read it’s not my personal experience and some people when they went for 12 month stamp they were not asked to handover their green card so it’s not concrete policy with uscis offices upto individual regional uscis office policy And 18 months extension letters are not valid and of no use without green card
