You will be just fine. As long as they get $680.00 they don’t care. Multiple people on VJ used two checks without any problems.

Dear all, I have a question for i-797c notice. So, I received the text message says uscis received my application on 11/16 and I-797c will follow up. Then, I checked online status on 11/21, the status says Nebraska Center is processing it and the I-797c has been mailed to me. However, it has been over 1 week and I still haven’t received the receipt. Is that normal? What should I do? Thanks!

Valor,

I submitted a service request and I was told that my file is in line to be reviewed by an officer - basically they processed the payment and now it’s sitting on a shelf waiting to be picked up by an IO to issue the NOA1. And to contact them back in 60 days if I didn’t get it.

Then I called and spoke with a clueless customer service rep that told me NOA 1 was mailed on 11/2, I honestly think she just read my case online where it’s says that on November 2 we accepted your case and mailed you bla bla bla.. and that they don’t sent duplicates. Same story like mine across August, September and October fillers. It’s just a mess now.

I booked an InfoPass for Monday to get my passport stamped. Hopefully that will go smoothly and I will get the 12 month extension in my passport, then I will wait for the 18 month NOA1.

Thanks for sharing your experience, Alex. I'm sorry to hear that. I remember speaking to the customer service rep several times and received no helpful information when we were doing AOS. That's why I didn't even bother to call them this time.  Is your wife's GC expiring soon? Mine isn't expired until a few months later so I'm not in an urgent situation to get the extension letter. But still, I have heard people missed biometric letter because they never receive any and that worries me a bit. I hope yours will get to you soon.

Valor,

I agree, the customer service reps are just reading scripts.

I am the applicant, my wife is the USC.

My green card expires on 1/27/19, but you know I don’t really know when I will get the notice and for my peace of mind I want to have the passport stamped and in Cleveland, OH there are plenty of slots available now, not sure if that will change in the future.

No hurry for me either for anything. I just find it interesting how they didn’t mail out the notices when the processed the payments.

When doing the AOS. I got the notice in a few days.

Thank you so much Alex! Now I know I am not alone. I just cannot believe that they tell us online that they mailed the notice but actually they haven’t. That does not sound responsible to me. I received my AOS i-797c notice fairly quick in the past that’s why I am worried that they might send to a wrong place or mail get lost somewhere. By the way, how do I request a service to make sure that the real status of the case? Thanks!

I completely understand how you feel. My expires only couple days after yours. It's a long and stressful journey and we definitely want to make every step correct. We also got the NOA1 a week after we submit our AOS application. Not sure why everything has been slowed down a lot. Do you know if we have to submit this much evidence when filing for N400? Our I751 evidence weighted almost 5 pounds. I guess the best thing to do while waiting is to start preparing N400. Good luck!

We also did 2 checks and always do with immigration. It's even better,  so they can see both different categories (i751 AND biometric).

Everything is fine. Our package was received on October 31 and accepted. We got a text on November 5th. As long the two checks put together equal the amount they need.

Don't worry. If they return your package, that would be for a different reason. But hope not. 😉.

There is no such rule with the checks. Nowhere it says to send only 1 check.

A check is a check, 1 or 2 or 10 of them in small amounts. As long all put together equal what your Creditor needs.

And think about it, they end up categorizing the expenses and sending here $85 for biometric and here $595 for the i751. So you did them a favor, lol!
