My understanding for having applications filed to lockboxes before they are routed to service centers was to streamline and expedite the process. My email notification of filing acceptance of filing stated that I should be receiving my receipt 7 to 10 days by standard mail. It sounds from this forum and others that it's taking almost a month to receive the receipt notice. Very disappointing process...good luck to every one!

Yes we didn't expect this process to go that way. Until you file the i751, you think removing conditions should not take longer than adjusting status, right?

It's not logical to adjust status in 4 to 6 months processing time and remove conditions in 2 years processing time.

Agreed. There is no logic whatsoever. At this point I am fine waiting for the actual green card, but at least send people's extension letters so we can focus on our work and lives.

100% agreed,

my job is still waiting on my actual letter as my GC expired on 11/18/18, they are allowing me to still work since I got the e-notification but now they are asking for the actual NOA1 that shows my GC has been extended cause if I don't show the proof they cant keep me as a hire.

they said I have till the end of the year so I am hoping for something before new years.

Sent my package last night using UPS 2 day delivery which was expensive. I should've use USPS priority instead.

Do you know that you don't need to wait for the 18 months extension letter for your work. Right? In the meantime,  the i551 form stamped in your passport or on top of a i94 form with your picture serves as proof of legal status and work authorization.

The only difference is the length (12 months and 18 months), but that doesn't matter really at this point.

Many applicants think they need the stamp only to travel. No, the stamp is another presentation of the green card,  it's not a exclusive travel permit.

People who immigrated in the us with an immigrant visa get a 1 year i511 as a stamp first at the customs and border before entering the USA (not leaving it), until they receive the i551 form as a card ( aka green card) at the address provided to uscis.

So if it's urgent, make an appointment for infopass and get a 1 year i551 stamp to have peace at work.
