Congratulations! I will have combo interview in Phoenix office soon too.

and I thought that Phoenix does the same day Oath.

Why you did not have same day oath?

Oh great! Goos luck to you!

I heard that they do but no same day oath taking for me. The IO said she needed to finalize/approve/double check everything on my pending 751 then get the final approval for my n400

When I went to get my passport stamped, I brought a document from work stating that I need some form of evidence that I’m still legal to work here. Also, I showed my expired DL..

I think they’ll accept any document that gives a sense of urgency in getting a stamp.

Would anyone happen to know if receiving, “Post Decision Activity” update on your n400 and 751 mean anything negative? My IO said I should be approved right after our interview but this is the update I received..

I took the things you said you will take, and also my social security card (because I went straight to renew my license after I got the stamp) and a letter from NJ Motor Vehicles (ie DMV) stating my license is expiring.  The officer who called back to give me the interview date told me to take something such as a recent bank statement to show my current address - when I went in for the stamp, the officer told me he did not need any of those documents.

7/22/2023: Both (parents) petitions approved

8/8/2023: Received NVC welcome email for both parents

Paps And Dawn, And Duncan21,

thank you so much for posting which helped alot.

When I went to the office all I gave was my DL, Passport, Expired GC, Expired Extender and Appointment Letter. What is weird though that they only gave me a 6 months extension instead of a 1 year extension....is this normal now?

Ooh I’m not sure about that one. Did you ask why? The only reason I can think of is maybe you’ll get approved within those 6 months that’s why it’s a shorter extension?

Hi) yes, I’ve heard of it. Good friend of mine got the same year ago after n 400 interview. Her husband is military officer.
since your spouse got deployed (he was not with you on interview) they are checking deployment letter now. Uscis checks marriage with military spouses too deep cuz there are a lot of fraud there.
Wish you the best!!!
thanks for your feedback about interview.

You're welcome!  I received a 12 month extension - I've seen others receive 6 months and even 13 months.  I agree with @Paps and Dawna that perhaps your appointment will be soon.  Please let us know if this InfoPass appointment triggers anything with your case.

That totally makes sense! That's probably why the IO asked for a copy of the deployment letter too.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi All,
need advice
in SFO been waiting for over 2y Nov 2018 for I751 & 1y Nov 2019 for N400 after contact Congressman & ombudsman I'll get combo interview in N400 time, processing time for N400 is 18 months. my GC exp 2/2017 got stamp on my passport + 18 months ex-letter + another stamp on my passport
Do you think if it's Ok now to do writ of mandamus case or it'll be denied as I'm still in the processing time range ?

-I'm just afraid if I waited 6 more months
1. nothing new happened if they lost my file
2. they increase processing time as happened before (it was started with 10  > 12.5 > 15 > and now 17.5 months)
3. new lockdown because of COVID

-I'm really frustrated I started my journey on Oct. 2015
for over 5 years
I'm still married
never change my address/any of my contacts
filing taxes jointly
travel abroad only 1 time for 4 weeks
