Hi guys,

My extension letter expires in 30 days and I called today to request for an appointment for an InfoPass. I was informed that I have to call back 10 days or less before it expires. Before, I was told it was 30 days, now it is 10 days and I need to show proof of urgent needs for an Infopass. Ugh.. it’s so frustrating... but (inhale and exhale) We’ll ALL get through this!

Same thing happened to me the IO said I needed proof it’s urgent even though I told her I was applying for a new job. The company managed to verify me on everify but I’m DL expires in September so I won’t have a valid ID after that. At this point I don’t know what to

do I’m tired of waiting I filed Nov 2018

I’m glad the company was able to verify you!

My extension letter and DL expires in the first week of August. I’m worried that if I am unable to get an infopass in a timely manner, it could affect my job since they will need proof of eligibility to work when the extension expires.

I’m afraid of losing my job so I decided to contact the Ombudsman and explained the situation. Stressful times indeed. Nov 18 filer too

You may want to confirm with an attorney but if you are already hired, you're are safe. Companies do not run w9 after you're hired. It is against the law unless they can justify a valid reason to do so you're under protected status anyway.

Right, thanks for reminding me! I’m just worried because I’m a Flight Attendant and they might be able to give a valid reason :( Buttt I’m on unpaid leave until November so I won’t be working till then.

As far as I know, by law you're under protected status untill unless you are in removal proceedings due to a case rejection. You are a legal permanent resident. Especially if you also have N400 filed.

Copy that, thank you. I’ll also do some research on it so that I’ll be more knowledgeable.

Hello, a quick question my extension letter will expire in a week and I have to go out of country for a week. what do I do? do I have to make an appointment to get a stamp? are they giving stamps for expired letters?

Thanks in advance

Try calling USCIS and tell them your extension letter expires in a week. They will schedule you for an appointment and you should be able to get a stamp on your passport at their office :)

No problem. Please let us know how it goes! I’ve been trying to get one but USCIS told me to call back 10 days prior to the expiration of my extension letter. Good luck!

Has anyone heard back from Omburdsman inquiry? How long has it been since you made an inquiry?

how long does it take to hear back from them...

I sent an inquiry last July 12 and received an email last July 17 saying that our request was being reviewed. Still nothing for now.

We received a response saying that they have contacted USCIS in regards to our case and they will contact us when they have a response.

My case was received by USCIS early October, 2018 (Nebraska). I did my bio around July, 2019 and didn't hear anything since then. My 18 month extension expired few months back. I am planning to attend college soon and I submitted my application. They sent me an email saying I was admitted and my status show 'checking legal status'. Just last week, I contacted Ombudsman immediately with a print version of the email and they replied within 2 days saying they have reached-out to USCIS. Boy little did I know this would lead to my approval 5 days later! Some 675 days later, I couldn't believe when I see the case tracker app notification "New Card is Being Produced". If Ombudsman contacted USCIS, there is a good chance you will get your approval soon. Cheers!
