They mailed my card! FINALLY!

EAC case. I filed in November 6th 2018, got an RFE asking for more evidences that my marriage was in good faith in November 2019. Mailed everything. Got the updates status (not sure when, I just checked online) and card was mailed yesterday. There’s light in the end of tunnel lol.

Is this a waiver case or you are still married?

Congratulations!

I am also waiting on a divorce waiver, and kind of really worried......

Can you please share a list of evidence that you sent over?

Any RFE or interview?

How long was your marriage?

Was your divorce decree sent with original ROC package?

Were you interviewed for I-485?

Thank you!

Mine is also a divorce waiver in Texas center. filed on Nov 16, 2018.  sent tons of documents like you.

they said no Biometrics is needed. but later on November 6, 2019  I had to do the Biometrics.... still waiting.

my online account says: " Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken".  so stressful

I am a divorce waiver in texas center with Nov 2019 filing date. You should be hopefully hearing something back. Please share what you sent and how long did you marriage last? Thanks

Hi everyone,
I have some questions about the I-551 stamp and infopass appointments. I'm a November 2018 filer with my I-797 NOA receipt letter extension valid until July 26 2020.
I currently have a 1 year I-551 stamp in my passport but the stamp is about to expire. I called USCIS today requesting an infopass appointment to get another stamp and was told that I am not eligible for an infopass appointment until I'm within 1 month of my  NOA letter expiring (so June). I told them about my I-551 stamp expiring and that I want a valid one in my passport for international travel and was told I don't need one unless my NOA extension letter has expired.
I'm feeling apprehensive because even thought I know an expired green card with a NOA extension is legally valid I was advised a few years ago by a lawyer who helped with the I-751 to get the I-551 stamp and I recall reading on forums that some border officers will give you a hard time if you have the expired green card and valid NOA without the I-551 stamp.

I'm wondering if anyone has successfully gotten an I-551 stamp recently while still having many months left on their NOA? Or if others have tried and faced the same issues? Has anyone traveled on the expired GC and valid NOA letter with or without any issues when re entering the US?

I'm planning to go abroad in May, returning in June and obviously I'm hoping I'll just have my new card by then but things are taking so long that I'm not banking on it. I feel nervous leaving the country and not having a much documentation as possible ie a valid I-551 stamp. Any thoughts or insight?

Thankyou

Hi. Couple of things. Dont worry too much. I recently came from a cruise. Had to go through immigration obviously since I left the country. I arrive at the officer, have my passport open with expired GC which had been clipped by USCIS inside and the extension letter on my other hand. Officer looks only at the passport and the GC for a while then looks back at me then waves me through. He didnt ask for the extension letter or even stamp my passport. Was the weirdest, easiest US immigration stop ever. On other occasions, I think most recent was O'Hare when I landed from London. Officer took passport green card and extension letter. Looked at them for 5 seconds then stamped my passport without much problems.

I btw do have the i551 stamp somewhere in my passport (have gotten it twice now) but they never flip to look at it or ask for it.

If anything, the immigration officers that give me some what of a difficult time are the ones from other countries. I need a visa to visit the UK, so I arrived there and they told me they dont accept or recognize the i551 stamp, so I gave out the extension letter, expired GC and also the UK visa in passport. He took his time examining all my docs. Almost 5 minutes while making friendly conversation with me and finally stamped me in. So I wont worry too much about the I551 stamp. It's basically useless unless your extension letter is truly expired. Also how I got the stamp while still having the letter, simple. I just told them I never got the letter and need to travel. This was true when I got the first stamp. The letter then eventually came. When the first stamp expired I called and told them that my stamp is expiring and need a new one. Did not bring anything up regarding the letter.

Goodluck

Woke up to a notice that "Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for an Interview". We were transferred from CA to NBC a couple weeks ago. For reference, we did not have an interview on our initial green card application. No RFE's to date.

Hoping we receive our date soon, since we are bonafide AF 😉

I have been quiet, but observant, an really trying not to get overwhelmed. Last night I was particularly stressed, wondering if I would get an RFE....

Today, everything is better! Hubby and I will go out to celebrate!!! I just got a notification in a change of my case status.

"Card is being produced"!!!

What a relief. Next step N-400

Wishing everyone still waiting, that you get your card soon. My signature has my timeline and here is some additional info. Happy to answer any questions you might have:

- Submitted mid November 2018 - Texas Service Center

- Didn't get extension letter so I requested a copy

- Copy hadn't arrived and the card was close to expire so I requested online an infopass on January 2019 and got an I-551 stamp in my passport that would last 1 year . They took my green card and they mentioned I could keep the extension letter as a reference when I got it

- Got the extension letter copy  via post

- Got a biometric appointment letter for November 2019

- Requested a new infopass to renew my I-551 stamp on my passport. I had to wait 30 days before it expired to be able to schedule the infopass and they called me to schedule it once I called to explain my situation.

- Got the renewal of the stamp  on December 2019

- After 15 month and a week of waiting I got a notification that my status has changed. Went online and confirmed that my card was being produced.

I will confirm once I have my card with me.

Good luck everyone!
