Trying to scare them out of me just pi$$es me off, which makes the hiccups worse, but drinking a glass of water fast seems to do the trick.

We always drank water from a cup from the opposite side of the cup.... (not from side the one closest to you) YOu have to lean over to do it..

Always worked for me! I did it here in the US and my USC hubby looked at me like i was nutters!! :jest: I think it's the concentration (probably same idea as the 10 sips thing)..
