I dunno and very confusing many said that usem they want current 6 mos nbi and atleast 30 days cenomar.

Expand

30 days for a CENOMAR is new information and I would take that with a "grain of salt". I suggest no older then 6 months for NBI as no one with under 6 months has had problems with the age of the NBI but some who have older have had problems. Your mileage may vary.

So I think this is what is happening today... They are slowly updating peoples accounts to "In Transit" and then tomorrow they will all be shipped. Also, I just received an email as well from the NVC stating:

NVC-do-not-reply@state.gov

Subj: The National Visa Center sent your K1 visa petition to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

There's your confirmation page to your case number which if needed for interview, medical or scheduling, you'll have it. You can start getting things completed in Vietnam while waiting for your file to arrive. Don't schedule you interview yet until ceac changes to ready and you have heard from the embassy but you can pay the fee if you want. Further details are in the links below.

Yes the USEM website does say one year BUT we have seen those within one year to one hour be excepted BUT we also have seen some that have been given a 221(g) for a new one when their current one is still within the 1 year. So, I tell folks to have it under 6 months and they won't have a problem and it's true, we have yet to see one under six months old be turned away. So, I say "Buyer beware". In the post below there are two answers from two different couples that received 221(g) for NBI's that were older then 6 months. JMHO.

The posting is about securing an NBI clearance for presentation to Abu Dhabi and not USEM, so it is not really relevant

Thanks, Greenbaum. I have actually learned a lot already through VJ, as well as the private group chat I made that I have with a few others on here as well. Now, if that is the Confirmation Letter then oh I will be adding this to her Interview Books that I am making as well.

I know once I get her stuff completed to take over then I might actually go ahead and create a Forum under the Vietnam section and I will tag you in it as well if and when I complete it so if any new Vietnam K1's come through then they can have a written out guide as well with pictures & links lol. That way it can hopefully assist future Vietnam K1's.

So today my case went to 'In Transit' status and my fiancé received an email stating (and I got a copy) our case is on its way to the embassy. The email says to follow the instructions as there is an attachment to open but the instructions are to go to this link  http://nvc.state.gov/k1 which I have read a million times and is just the basic K1 process for everyone. Here is basically what the email says to us;

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your fiancé (e)’s/spouse’s approved I-129F petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). NVC will now forward the petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in La Paz, Bolivia. Please note that the transfer process can take several weeks. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate will contact your fiancé (e)/spouse when they are ready to process his or her petition.

Next steps:  Go to our website http://nvc.state.gov/k1 to learn how to apply for a K visa and prepare for the visa interview.

I'm thinking the embassy will contact us with how to schedule the interview and medical including specifics from our Embassy, I'm going to contact the Embassy to see if they will be sending us instructions as this email really didn't help other than letting us know our case is on the way to the embassy for which im happy about.

I wasn't referencing the information for ABD but USEM and if you read through the thread you will see two or three responses from those who are processing through USEM who confirmed and concurred that less then 6 months is more ideal. Those are the ones I had presented to you in my earlier post to pay attention to as they were examples.

Early today my status stayed At NVC and I just checked the CEAC website and now says In Transit! I’m very happy about this.

What would be a good idea of when I might hear from the Embassy with instructions to schedule the interview and medical? What is the next status after In Transit?  I’m going to research this now.

In my case there is no early scheduling of an interview or paying the Visa fee on USTRAVELDOCS as Bolivia is not a South American country with that option.

Expand

What early scheduling or paying for fee South Americans have? Because I had to wait on packet 3 then sent it back and then receive and ok to proceed to paying fees and setting interview and I'm in South America.

was your letter just basic K1 process steps for instructions? Mine was yet it says to follow the instructions which is just a canned statement for everyone with nothing specific to our petition or how the schedule the interview, I have to believe once the embassy gets our petition it will give us instructions how to schedule the interview with specifics to our case so I wonder if this NVC email is to make aware of  "In Transit' status and just an overall canned email.

Hey guys, I got my packet 3 today and my medical is scheduled for the 28th (was supposed to be 3 weeks ago but I had to cancel it back then).

I caught a cold and can't stop coughing now so was wondering will that be an issue at the medical exam? I know it sounds stupid so I tried calling that doctor's office before embarrassing myself here, but nobody answered. Any other wuss here besides me?
