I have had the case ID since Dec. 17. I am trying to schedule the interview and medical.  Ds160 is complete.  I am unable to move forward now.  I thought getting my case ID, I didn't need to wait for the NVC letter

I was able to schedule interview with the case number assigned.. You should not have any problem..

Different embassies/consulates have different rules for when you're allowed to schedule the interview and/or medical.

There are some embassies that require certain additional steps prior to the applicant can schedule an interview. Please be careful with your recommendations unless you are will versed in their embassy then I am sure they appreciate your help. Canada, Japan and there are others who specifically require you to complete certain items prior to them allowing you to schedule your interview. If you do not follow their instructions they will cancel your appointment and you will need to go to the back of the line. Just saying.

 

She has to complete the DS-160 first and then notify her embassy for further instructions.

Appr. 1-3 months usually. Most recently about three months. K-1 Visa can be scheduled as soon as you have completed DS-160. You should email the consulate immediately after they have received your packet to request further instructions (ie packet 3). They will email it to you in response to this question within a week, otherwise send another email. Packet 3 has a cover letter which the local hospitals are still recognizing as the authorization to do their check. Make sure that you are able to complete the medical/police checks before the interview date. If there is a child included, be prepared for 2-4 more days to complete the medical. When you schedule the interview the system will give you dates to pick from, but do not expect there to be more than 3-4 days available in the month.

They will tell you nothing and they do not publish any information on this subject. Governmental office are closed on Monday and Tuesday and will resume work on Wednesday. So it is not M or Tues. The first person that will know will be you because you will be checking ceac/state.gov.

She'll need to wait for her GC to travel outside the US unless she has a Travel Document but that should be used in extreme cases otherwise immigration can deny her reentry.

Hello everyone, how are you and the status? Just want to ask to be sure, may NBI clearance was issued this June 04, 2018.. question is if my interview would be nextyear january or february do i need to get a new one and recent nbi?

 

all of my docs birth certificate and cenomar is recent to be release on jan 3rd nextyear. i need the attention of @Greenbaum , thanks

Yes you will need a new NBI. NBI and CENOMAR can't be older then 6 months for USEM.

When does the NVC send the hard copy of the case number(before or after it sends the case to consulate)? Is it mailed to the petitioner or the beneficiary? Also is this required to have on hand for the interview/before scheduling the interview? Thank you!

Looks like NVC decided to give us a Christmas gift.  I received an email from NVC about 30 mins ago that my case is shipped to our Embassy ☺️  Also CEAC sites says "in transit"😊  I was not expecting for NVC to ship anything this week.  Good luck to everyone.
