I recommend that you both work on it together. Once it is completed the petitioner should read through the form making 100% that his/her information is correct. Then save it and provide the beneficiary the information to open the form on their end and they then go through the document to ensure dates and names are spelled correctly. Then the beneficiary will submit the document and PRINT off the confirmation page with the barcode. That's what you will bring to the interview and present to the CO.

Signature. The Form DS-160 shall be signed electronically [by the beneficiary] by clicking the box designated "Sign Application" in the certification section of the application. This electronic signature attests to the applicant's familiarity with and intent to be bound by all statements in the NIV application under penalty of perjury. Alternatively, except as provided in paragraph (a)(2) of this section, the Form DS-156 shall be signed by the applicant, with intent to be bound by all statement in the NIV application under penalty of perjury.

Editor's note: Since the DS-160 is all about the beneficiary, then they are required to be the one to electronically sign the form because they are "bound by all statements" within the DS-160.

hehe yeah. I forgot the little nitty-gritty details but I did hers for her with her while I was beside her. I explained the questions. Hell. I even laughed at them because I don't even remember my secret clearance being this vigorous when I was in Iraq. rofl. She would ask me what it would be about. I would take my time explaining it. It timed out and we would have to load it back up and do it over again. Took us like an entire 24 hours. I hate the timeout on that form so bad I wanted to raid a village. roflmao

Hello to all the other couples out there patiently (or impatiently) waiting to get their documents shipped off from the NVC!

Just a little tip from our experience: if it's been a few weeks and you still haven't received an email with your case number, just call them. My fiance called the NVC yesterday and got our case number (woohoo!) although he still didn't get an email from them. Time to stalk that CEAC website XD

 It can be troublesome. Some have used the "save" button every 5 min to stay on track.

Our file was sent to the Nairobi Embassy on wed 12/12/18. I have been trying to log into www.ceac.state.gov for the last couple of days but it keeps telling me the website cannot be reached. Where else can I see the status of our file? @Greenbaum do you have packet 3 for Nairobi Embassy? Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure why you can't reach ceac unless the site is blocked from your country.

Case # Nov 13th

Today - Still AT NVC😒..Oh the wait!

If you have been following this thread closely, it has been stated that cases are shipped every other week to the embassies. Next shipment will go out next week keep checking CEAC for updates.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

Around 0600PST/0900EST/1400UTC/1700Kenya the CEAC site will often be very slow for me, to the point it does not work.  The site seems to work well most other times.

We've set up our medical for January 4th! After she goes thru the medical, what is the turnaround on the time she receives the results?

Next day. You should be over in the sub-forum for your region/country. Go up to the blue ribbon, select forums, then scroll down 3/4 of the page and find your sub-forum. Begin asking questions of others who are going through the same embassy as you. Someone from Germany, Spain or Syria is not going to know what you should do next because each embassy has different requirements.
