@Greenbaum sir, I have a question. I stayed in the US (not continuously) for atleast 6 months. Like 3 months last year and 3 months in 2016. I was there for training mostly, do I need any sort of clearance?

I'm the beneficiary.

No clearance needed.

do you have the link where it says that the ds-160 is only good for 30 days. Because I'm not aware of that and if that's the case. I understand that there's no expiration date on the ds-160.

I read one explanation on this topic that said the DS-160 did not expire as long as the information remained valid and current.  One part of the DS-160 that could potentially "expire" (technically) is the photo, which should be less than 6 months old.

You have a good perspective on what could happen if it was too old, by referencing the picture. And with that I have to concur. That's why I advise applicants to do the ds-160 after they received the case number. It would only be a month or two before they have their interview so it's still be pretty fresh. Thank you for your insight.

I think that by expire they meant that the form would need to be refilled, Basically you need to log in and edit it at least once a month so it doesn't get deleted.

Maybe the 30 day rule actually means you can't access a completed application after 30 days.  I don't see any evidence that it expires.

If you start a DS-160 form and you do not access it again within 30 days it will poof - disappear. But if you access it then the clock start ticking again for the next 30 days. Once you complete and print then there is no expiration date. They only caveat is that your picture may appear "old" to the CO and they may require you to update the DS-160 with a new picture. So, don't use the same picture that you used to start the process (I-129f) with as they can compare one to the other and make a decision. If identical, I would think they would ask for a updated DS-160. That is just my opinion. Thanks for searching out a possible answer.

@Greenbaum I have a question. Do I need the police certificates for the AOS or another process in the US after getting the K1 Visa ?

Thanks !

No you will no longer need the PC's after your embassy interview unless they are needed for a job require security but that will be determined case by case and what the company/position requires.
