First of all, if you haven’t already done so, make sure you complete your DS-160 and request your police certificate. When you have your case number, you can call Knightsbridge to schedule your medical exam. You’ll need to give them your case number when you schedule your appointment. Once you have your exam scheduled, DS-160 completed and have everything else that you need for your interview, complete the Notification of Applicant Readiness Form and when your NVC case status changes to “In-transit” you can go to https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv to create an account and schedule an interview. Make sure that you allow at least 5 working days between the date of your medical exam and the date of your interview or risk the results from the exam not arriving in time. For your interview go here https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv/ or call here 442074867822

As always cheers @Greenbaum. Police cert received, "No Trace" so I'm all clean....now just for DS-160 and jobs a good-un until we receive the letters.

From what you've said it seems we don't have to register anywhere and can just wait for the letter(s) to arrive 🙂 We're running on a timescale of our own also so being informed immediately isn't the be all and end all.

Ignore those instructions. You need to follow the links below for an uneventful interview. Go to tab 85 and the last entry is what I just gave to someone else who is filing in the Philippines.

Yes you can use the WAC #. That number is referred to as the receipt number. LDN# is your case number. Using it interchangeable causes confusion. Just saying.

Ok. I asked because I've a UK police certificate, I got It last year, I`m concern that by the time of the interview it won't be valid. Since in the documents list it says that police certificates are valid for one year. I have not been back, still valid right? It's that what it says in the reply you just got?

Thanks for your reply

I dont know. I am requesting a UK certificate as well.

I asked the Colombian CO this question many months ago without having an answer.

Let me know if you find the answer

Thanks

You can fill form ds-160 already. In my case, I must wait my case is at least in transit for to pay the fee and make the appoinment I guess same for you.

DS-160 can be completed at anytime but suggestion is to do it after your case is assigned. Don't assume it's the same for everyone. Each Embassy can be different then yours.

Hi,

I apologize if this was covered but I did not see it. I am fact checking a little bit. Basically, I was told that that you should wait to fill out the DS-160 until you receive your P3. My case is at the NVC with a case #, hopefully next shipment. The reasoning was that the DS-160 is only good for 30 days. Google seems to confirm this.

So for now, I will mail my fiancee my affadavit of support and wait till the P3 arrives to input the DS-160. I have a copy saved with all entries filled out already. It seems like scheduling an interview correlates with the P3 letter as well. Can anyone confirm? Thanks in advance. Actually ignore this

@Greenbaum sir, I have a question. I stayed in the US (not continuously) for atleast 6 months. Like 3 months last year and 3 months in 2016. I was there for training mostly, do I need any sort of clearance?

I'm the beneficiary.

I do not believe petitions are transferred to the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou by DHL, and maybe not on the same every-2-weeks schedule. I watched the DHL tracker closely, but never once did I see a single shipment from the NVC to China. Shipments were going out everywhere else, but nothing has showed up on DHL for China at all.

If you leave the country blank on the DHL search tool, you can see all the shipments. This will give you a decent idea that the search variables are entered correctly, and that DHL has the packages entered into their system.

My status changed to "In Transit" a couple days after the bulk shipment, then changed to "Ready" a few days later.

We're still waiting <lies>patiently</lies> for the P3, which the beneficiary should receive via EMS.

The DS - 160 can be completed at any time after receiving the case number. There is no expiration date on the ds-160. Doing this far in advance is fine.

An individual with an approved petition and a priority date that is current for processing (when applicable) is eligible to apply for an immigrant visa or K nonimmigrant visa. Immigrant visa applicants will be notified by either the National Visa Center (NVC)

And don't forget the help from other members here:
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/94-china/

And the Portal here on VJ for processing in China and what to expect
http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=China&cty=Guangzhou

or the http://www.ustraveldocs.com/cn/cn-iv-visaapplyinfo.asp

Don't waste time while you're waiting for P3, complete DS-160 and print confirmation page. Since you are from China(I provided your website for you below), go to the 2nd link below and click immigrant to register under K1 visa. After you register and enter info it should be clear on how to pay fee, make sure you print Bank deposit slip. just follow directions under Nonimmigrant Visa, but make sure when you register K1 is under Immigrant Visa.

Directions go to http://www.ustraveldocs.com/cn/cn-niv-visaapply.asp

Register(Create Account) https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/?language=English&country=China After you register make sure to choose K1 visa under Immigrant, it wasn't an option for me under non-immigrant.
