Im wondering the same about the NVC case number, the NVC said they received my case on 11/23 but I’m still without a case number as of today.

Interesting however I emailed my embassy and asked a few questions about their interview process, my embassy told me the NVC will schedule my fiancé interview and about this same time the embassy will get my case from the NVC.....so it appears My Fiancé and I will be told what date our embassy interview will be....I just hope it’s soon!

Hi i am lil confused that my noa2 letter says that we approved your above petition and forwarded to the consulate. What does it mean? And i called consulate and they said that you're gonna received your packet from embassy so you have to wait for that. They didn't sent me case to the NVC ??

Lets see -
NOA2 / approval - 11/06/2018
NVC Received -  11/21/2018

Case # assigned - 12/06/2018

Not sure when it will leave heading to the embassy. But i assuming the process might be a little bit slowed since it is the holiday season.

We got your case number. 12/06/2018. What now? What are our actions?

Go to the embassy website.   Review the online checklist,  gather the required information.   When your petition gets to the embassy,  schedule your interview

YMMV

Your petition was forwarded to the NVC. The NVC will send you your case number, the embassy doesn’t know you until they have your case number.

Has anyone else been give an interview date directly form the NVC and not scheduled themselves? Just wondering I was told the NVC will schedule my fiancés interview and all along I thought we were responsible for doing this, thanks

I'd double check with any others going through your consulate, but I think that's just boilerplate text used for all visas processed through the immigrant visa unit; at every consulate I know anything about, the beneficiary has to schedule his or her own interview for K-1s (though when the system will let you schedule things varies).

Let me provide this for you so you might have a better understanding of the process.

1. Your case/application is at USCIS for an approval. NOA1

2. Your case is approved at USCIS. NOA2

3. Your case is being forward to NVC for case number assignment needed for the next steps.

4. Case number is assigned

5. Case is in transit to your Embassy

6. Embassy receives your case and sets your record to "ready"

7. "Ready" condition gives you permission to begin completing your documents, medical and interview. See what is needed in the links below.

What is needed for the interview:

VJ portal for your county's Embassy (information is old but maybe it will be of some use)

Sub-forum for your region. This is the place to ask questions of others who are processing through Pakistan, not here. PLEASE PLEASE  go to this thread and ask your questions specific to Pakistan when your case arrives at your Embassy.

This is what I thought also but since the embassy told me this I figured it was correct but nobody here I know of atleast has mentioned this type of interview scheduling, the frustrating part is I had asked how I schedule my interview so when I had my case number I could go ahead and do this thinking the embassy would give me a link to check for available dates but I was stopped dead in my tracks when the embassy said the NVC would schedule my fiancé interview.

thanks Dave

It has been posted here in this thread a number of times. Please start reading the entries from the last time you were here to the current spot. This is way you don't miss important information.

Case files are shipped to the Embassies every other week. Next shipment is scheduled to leave 12-11 and 12-12. They always leave on a Tues/Wed unless of course they change what they have been doing consistently for the past 4 months.
