Hey guys waiting for our case number which makes 14 days as of yesterday, haven't called I figured I would wait a few more days since today they are closed. I'm reaching out as my Fiancé will be filling out the DS-160 soon and he is visiting for the holidays, when filling out the last time he has visited will that be an issue putting when he got here if he is still here when filling this out and haven't left yet?

has anyone else had their fiancé do the DS-160 while in the US?

You can be anywhere in the world to prepare this.

YMMV

just wanted to make sure

Just wanted to make sure that him not having a date he left wouldn't be an issue

If information needs to be completed or updated on the application it can be done subsequently including at the window if necessary

YMMV

Hi everyone, I’m a little confused. Another member just received her case number and she already has interview date at the embassy, how is it possible so quickly?

I guess Im lost here, once we get case number isn’t there a progression in status on the CEAC website? Maybe I’m thinking the case status has to be in ‘ready’ status to be able to make an interview appointment but I could be wrong. I just don’t see how she could get an interview date when she just got her case number less than a week ago?

Also I know I need to submit the DS160 and I was going to do that once I had our case number but does the DS160 need to be submitted before an interview can be scheduled?

Thanks

Some embassies/consulates get cases from NVC electronically, and some allow interviews to be scheduled as soon as they have a case number.

Also there are some embassies/consulates where the system will let you do this, but it won't actually work and you'll need to schedule things again.

We are. Not really sweating things too much for NVC and interview because Anastasia's sister is getting married in March so I'm going to go to the wedding in Russia and then we're coming home together.

Though we'd still like to get everything done and have visa in hand ASAP.

HI!

Does anyone know how long does it take for the NVC to send you an email/letter to let you know your NVC number w/o calling them? I'm just so tired of calling them... they've received my case about a couple of weeks ago but have not generated my case number, thanks!

Manila embassy seems to easy to deal with... I already have case number but I can't move forward, I filled ds160 but I cant pay fees or see the earliest available interview (which by doing research on other timelines is from 2-4 months)... There's people from PH who submitted I129F a month later than me and they are already at the US lol.

Not complaining at all, just making a comparison with the facts I've been reading in different pages and forums... We got case number on Nov 29, hopefully we will catch the next shipment!

Im wondering the same about the NVC case number, the NVC said they received my case on 11/23 but I’m still without a case number as of today.

Interesting however I emailed my embassy and asked a few questions about their interview process, my embassy told me the NVC will schedule my fiancé interview and about this same time the embassy will get my case from the NVC.....so it appears My Fiancé and I will be told what date our embassy interview will be....I just hope it’s soon!
