Thanks God that we just got our NVC number today.

I asked the staff if we can request a transfer for interview location. She said we need to submit the public inquiry form via asknvc, and I submitted it.

The thing is they review inquiries in order. That’s why I have to wait for the reply. I don’t know if they will send my case to the Consulate before review my inquiry form? Is anyone here have same issue?

Thank you!

Don't forget to update your timeline.  It helps the rest of us.

I called them. I try to call as early as possible. For me, that's usually around 8AM ET and I only have to wait a few minutes.

I saw that people were having some difficulty updating their e-mails with the Ask NVC link because the site wasn't accepting the birthday (written dd/month/yyyy). I was having this same issue, but tried using my own birthday instead of the principal applicant's, and it worked! The principal applicant is supposed to be the person immigrating to the US, which I am not, so it seems that it must be a mistake on part of the NVC staff. I wanted to pass this along in case anyone else was still having trouble. (Apologies if someone else has already suggested this, but I never saw a solution when I skimmed through the thread).

I did asknvc two times and used the principle applicants birthday with success.  I wonder if certain months are an issue

YMMV

When submitting the public inquiry to request a transfer. Is it ok to put the USCIS case number? Because I have submitted the inquiry few hours before I got my NVC number.

Thank you @Greenbaum

If you used the USCIS "receipt number" then I believe you are ok. Did you include both names both birthdays both country's and USCIS receipt number? I worry that the Embassy will not be able to locate your case as it has not been assigned a NVC case number. You'll just have to wait and see what the outcome is.

Hi @Greenbaum , I called NVC today and they said they received the file December 3. They said it will take upto 8 weeks for a case number to be assigned. Do I have to wait that long or will I still consider calling in a few days or after a week? Thanks!

No that's there pad answer. But no one can tell you with any certainty when you'll receive your CN. Give it about 10 business days and begin calling.
