No case number for us either and NVC received ours the same day.

guyss. first time poser here. got our NOA2 on October 29th, so I counted us as November NOA2- NVC lol we made a potentially huge mistake, forgot to update our email with NVC when received our NOA2.... I had just completed that step... will this be a huge problem?

@Greenbaum Do you happen to have a P3 letter for Brazil? :) If you do, could you send it to me? Thanks in advance!

We got approved (noa2) on Nov 6, my fiance called nvc only once 2-3 weeks after our noa2 and they hadn’t received our case by the time. Of course, we’re not calling them again until maybe Dec 6 (1 month after noa2) to check if they have our petition and maybe, hopefully, our nvc case number :). There’s no need to call several times, as there are people who really need to talk to them and have to wait on hold :s. Don’t worry, the waiting game is almost over for all of us, if you haven’t received your nvc number yet, just wait a little longer and you’ll have it I’m sure ;)

Me and my fiance are planning on scheduling my interview in February, if it’s possible.

@Greenbaum If our case was received by NVC before the last shipment but were not given a case number, how likely are we to get a case number and be on the next shipment 12/11?

It's hard to say with any certainty. I'd say 60/40 chance.

You should become familiar with your country's sub-forum here on VJ to get a better understanding of the process for the Embassy that you will be interviewing with. This will allow you to get direct answers from those who have completed the steps you are about to take at the US Embassy - Brazil.  Sub-forum for Brazil is located here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/96-mexico-latin-south-america/

This is the Packet 3 (P3) letter from your Embassy.

There is a lot of information on the Embassy for Brazil here https://br.usembassy.gov/visas/frequently-asked-questions-non-immigrant-visas/

A thread were a lot of chatter about the process for the Brazil Embassy and interview

No updating your email will not be a problem at all. You're fine.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

Case Numbers

Case numbers will trickle out to you over the next week but you are more apt to get your case numbers on 12/5-7 which is just prior to the bulk shipments on 12/11-12 to the embassies. Waiting to call on those dates is a better use of your time. Just our experience.

Hello @Greenbaum, one more question for your long list. Since I've been finger printed before for tourist visa, and I've been to the US several times within the last year. Do you think It has to be done again? Thanks again.

@Greenbaum one from me also. Patiently waiting our NVC case number at the moment like the good citizens that we are.. do we have to wait for our case number before being able to submit our DS-160? Our NAO2 came through 20 Nov, shall we be calling NVC or simply waiting for a letter to come through advising on instructions for next steps? I’ve been scrambling together all the other documents advised in your previous post (thank you!).
