Still waiting for the shipment to leave NVC but we have encountered a problem. The violence in Haiti has left our final packet of updated documents in Connecticut, as our contact had to cancel the trip due to unrest. DHL is unreliable in Haiti and I am unwilling to send the packet on chance. I'm going to take a big leap of faith and email as much as I can (my fiance has a quite complete copy from initial filing) of the updated communication and I134 paperwork. Holding my breath that they won't have a problem with copies in Haiti. Also holding my breath that the consulate will be operating soon.

Good luck everybody!

Scanned copy is fine it is acceptable but if you can have it in wet signature it’s far way more better since it is one of the important documents during embassy stage.

Hello all, on the visa status check website, I can only use it after I have a case number correct?

After I have the case number and do a visa status check im assuming the first status will be ‘in transit’ or will it be a different status early on?

i just can’t think of anything I can do after I get the case number other than get required documents ready and even then without the embassy checklist they send us I wouldn’t be 100% sure I have all the documents they need.

Correct me if I wrong I can’t even schedule a medical even with a case number number early on as the medical requires a embassy interview letter which I don’t think I’ll have until after my case gets to the embassy. Am I right or wrong here?

i have read some people do ustraveldocs to pay the MVR (embassy fee) I don’t see Bolivia as an option for South America to do this?

thanks

Congratulations! What is your NVC recieve date?

Sorry I don't know the NVC recieve date. Nov 21 is the first time NVC pick up our calling, and we were assigned a case number on that exactly same day.

I think you need to wait for the email from your embassy with the instructions.🌼

@Greenbaum you wrote earlier that the next shipment is 27/28 does that mean there are two days of shipment or its one or the other?

2 days of shipments with the majority going on the first day. FYI They are sending case files electronically and paper base. The Philippines are no longer issuing the "do not open envelope" as everything is in the system so the BP at immigration will have your "envelope" there when you arrive. They are slowly rolling this out to other Embassy's.

I would like to know what other embassies are using this method so if anyone encounters this it would be good information to know.

Priority date is the date on which the petition was filed for most visas. There are no priority dates for fiancé(e) visa cases.
