I just received our NOA2 in the mail yesterday! (11/17). Never received an update on either website.   On the form it says valid from 11/9 - does that mean it was approved that day and just now got to me in the mail?  So then can I expect it to be close to being at the NVC if not already there? Or am I just being hopeful lol

Don't be surprised by not receiving any kind of notification from USCIS or NVC except the mail version which must be sent.

I was wondering the same thing as mine has the same date, I’m hoping I get in a the next batch sent to the NVC. Greenbaum would know how often they are sent and what part or the month

Next batch is 11/27&28.

Hi Greenbaum, it appears from your answers about where I would show my fiancé change of address it’s this one https://egov.uscis.gov/coa/addressChange.do you provided the egov link the rest is for the Philippines.

The question I have about this is it’s the USCIS, I thought after NOA2 they had nothing to do with your K1 any longer? Isn’t really who needs her new address the Embassy? I advocate that you keep both updated especially before receiving the NOA2. After NVC then up date the Embassy.

https://egov.uscis.gov/coa/displayCOAInitForm.do

I did notice on this site even though it’s USCIS which I thought we were done with that there is a section my fiancé states her citizenship and below that it states ‘in the US as a’..........well she isn’t in the US right now do I choose ‘other’?

I read as much as possible I just don’t want to make mistake.

I think Im going to call NVC and email the embassy and give them my fiancé new address as well. Calling NVC is not necessary as they will not be mailing anything to her. But, her email address needs to be up to date so the Embassy can contact her with interview instructions. She can update her address during  her interview so that the Embassy contact ship the "do no open envelope" and her passport with visa inside to her home address.

Thanks

What you really need to update is her email address.

The embassy will send the P3 to her email address - remember that in Latin America the mail system doesnt work well, and they know this.

Actually the embassy will use the email address she provided when she applied to the B2 Visa.

Also, she needs to get familiar with the process of her embassy, all the information she needs is in the embassy website.

And when you both get the NVC number she can contact the embassy for inquiries.

And I suggest to you to be in contact with other Bolivians who are in this process. They give you update information about the embassy, the medical check up and etc.

Could you share the links for Larry and I? I seem to not be able to find anything on the Bolivia US Embassy website about the process other than sent to a general website that mixes immigrant and non-immigrant information. It's very confusing for a first time applicant IMHO.  Can you provide the link to any discussions by Bolivians? This information sure would help. Thanks.

Hi. I am applying in the embassy in Colombia.

I searched and I found this is the website for bolivia:

https://bo.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee/the-interview/

By the way, Greenbaum I was right in another post where I told you that the NVC set the date of the interview with the embassy  (the info is in this webpage 😉 )

I know it is confusing being the reason why I decided to write to  @LarryHickman and advised him to look for bolivians in this website. I dont have that information, I am applying at the Colombian CO and I am connnected to them.I also advise him to contact the CO directly by email or phonecall. And another advise is that her fiancee needs to get familiar with all of this process.

By the way, Greenbaum I was right in another post where I told you that the NVC set the date of the interview with the embassy  (the info is in this webpage 😉 ) If I remember correctly that was for your Embassy but didn't involve all Embassies. Am I correct in your response. (I wrestle with memory issues and I have to use OneNote to keep everything straight). :D

I know it is confusing being the reason why I decided to write to  @LarryHickman and advised him to look for bolivians in this website. I dont have that information, I am applying at the Colombian CO and I am connnected to them. That was a great suggestion, in fact I am going to add "tools" to help him find other Bolivians and they can start a thread much like some of the Indian folks have and a few other nationalities have.

This is for you @LarryHickman

Use the tools here in VJ to answer "when I am going to get etc. etc." question. Near your picture, there is a link to your timeline. Select it and once you're on the next page near your picture you will see "follow similar timelines" and it will populate 12 other couples who are near your dates. Scroll down and you will see a "spreadsheet" style page showing all the variables for measurement for when others from your Embassy are getting the same notice of approval or action.  Try it. It really works!

And if you want to follow those from other countries that have similar timelines as yours there are several tools available to you. Go up to Immigration Timelines on the blue ribbon above and select it. Once you are on the next page looked to your left and you will see a box that states, "find similar timelines" and select it. A list will populate with those who are processing close to your timeline. When they start to change you will soon be behind them.

I followed those that were in my group to give me an idea where they were in processing so I could judge if I was ahead or behind.  It's pretty accurate, maybe within a day or so.

If you choose to follow those twelve members then you will get an email every time their status updates.

When you asked me about that information, I told you - all of our readers- that the info was for teh colombian CO.

I always stated that.

Anyway I was right.

My post is also to encourage @LarryHickman to call to the embassy in Bolivia and ask all these questions because it will save him a TON of energy.

Cheers.

Starting calling NVC today. The website had our NOA2 at 11/1 but on the letter (which the NVC rep had me look at) actually says 10/31. Not that it really matters. Haha. They said they hadn't received it and it could take 6 weeks, blah, blah, blah. Will call back tomorrow! 😅

It's not always that way. None of us perdict with any certaintythe timeline for this or any process. It's just a big guess.

same here,  I was told the case was received on 11/14 and it might take 8 weeks or something like that

I've seen some people are told to call back in like 1 or 2 days to get the case number, I wonder how could they get such precise answer

We were told to call back later in the day for case number but we will call Wednesday instead.

Sigh... Feeling a little down. .

Found out on the South African K1 forum that the SA embassy won't have any K1 interviews for December. So even if we make the shipment for end of this month, we'll only get to do interviews and medical appointments in Jan. . Sigh.. . O'well.

There goes Christmas with my beloved... ... 🙈😞
