Hi @Greenbaum I finally have a (stupid?) question.

On the US travel docs site (you know, paying the fee site) I'm putting my work address down as the address to deliver my passport. On the DS-160, I'm leaving my home address as the general mailing address (because it is my usual mailing address). The US travel docs site says information between these two sites needs to match (I THINK it's meaning just the biographic data) but will this address difference be an issue? I'm only using my work address as passport delivery because that is where I am every day and will be able to sign for it. This is what it says 'Attention: Before you enter the receipt number ensure that the passport bio data and DS-160 information matches the ustraveldocs profile for all applicants scheduled during this session.'

 Thanks! I have questions about the DS-160 but I think I'm overthinking it just like I'm probably overthinking this LOL 😅

Hey guys,

It looks like we scheduled it wrong visa type for the interview on the US consultant web site.

there was a spot for K one if you received a letter from the consultant but we selected the immigrant visa one.

It allowed us to schedule the CASV date and asked for our case number.

Has anyone had this happen?

We completed ours using immigrant then K1, but the email we received from the US Consultant in Jakarta stated specifically to select it and follow the prompts. That included filling out our case number. Not sure if its the same for all embassies or not.

Your approach is fine. You have up to 24 hours after the interview to change your delivery address if so inclined to do so.

BTW you haven't used up your allotment of "stupid questions". 😁

Just a quick question,  I’m waiting on a reply from my embassy for a solution, all threads and answers from Mods I have seen state either the beneficiary and/or the Petitioner would make/pick/choose the interview appointment date and this is absolutely NOT true in my experience......a few others and I lately have had the embassy make the interview date for us not the other way around.

Now to my question, since the step prior to paying the visa fee (MRV) is the ability to pick an interview date and then after pay the fee here https://ais.usvisa-info.com/ .........these are the steps in order that have to happen on this web site.......if there are no dates available yet the Embassy HAS given me an interview date how would I pay the visa fee to the Embassy?

And no ustraveldocs do not have my country as a country to pay....I find it odd many countries are left off of this site yet have Embassy’s perhaps it’s only for nonimmigrant visas as K1’ turn into immigrant but even that said still nonimmigrant from certain countries are left off

Thanks

Just to clarify - is the page showing you only the "next available date" or all available appts? I don't know how things on that site vary from country to country but as far as I know for K1 visas, you always pay first before you can book interview. You're in the immigrant visa site, yes?

Interview 3/27/2019 (Approved)

Biometrics 7/15/2019

This just means there are no available appointments. It's unfortunate, but you just have to be patient and keep checking until some open. What do you mean by "check status for ds-160"? Have you completed your DS-160 and submitted? Are you trying to log in to your in progress DS-160? Do you mean check your case status on CEAC?

Hi @Greenbaum

What to do when an employer in the US doesnt give an employment verification letter for the Afidavit Support i34 ?

Thanks !

The employment letter can some from a supervisor or HR. Be sure you are stressing to them the importance that this letter means to your case. I'd even show them your P3 where it states the requirement.

Having said that, if you have all the other documentation such as W-2's, income tax returns and bank statements I think you should have no problems. But, I would still continue working toward getting a letter from the employer. If they refuse, it will not end your visa process. The CO's understand that some company's can be ____________. 4 days and we got a letter from the embassy after ceac status changed to ready.

Does everybody's letter look similar?

What do they mean by "please find" if it is the only paper we received 😄

Follow the link to the P3 letter and prepare for your interview based on the instructions from the link. "Please find" the information contained with in the link.

We are starting to hear some case files are in "TRANSIT" to the embassies. Here is some information that is fun and will track your shipment to your embassy. It's been reported that the China embassy will get their files in a different manner which hasn't been determined or reported. This information will not be available for 24 hours.

Tracking your case file that's in transit to your Embassy. Go to www.dhl.com click Express then Tracking, then Track by Shipper's Reference, and on this page you add your search information. You change the day and month to what you think your package might have left NVC or call NVC to get the date your package had left NVC in route to your Embassy then go to the DHL website and enter the following information:

EXAMPLE:

* Shipper´s Reference : EXP 24 MAR 2011A (This is the date you think it left NVC, just substitute the date and leave everything else as is)

* Date range for shipment - From: 23 - 03 - 2011

* Date range for shipment - To: 26 - 03 - 2011

Account Number - Leave this blank

Shipment Destination: Philippines (Works for any country Just replace your country where the Embassy is located using the drop down box)

I hope these tips help you along your Journey. So, let’s share our experiences, our tips and ask questions.

hi MeghanK, this page shows if there is appointments available, in my case there wasn’t but I didn’t actually need a date the embassy had already gave me a date BUT the process per this page is to pick and pay so I was hung up.

The embassy gave me another method to pay so all is well...Just FYI some embassies DO make your appointment for you.

Take care
