Checking in to share that our case status changed to "Ready" today and congratulate everyone who've also had their case ready. To those still waiting, hang in there a bit more!

@Laras.D sent an email to Indonesian US Embassy yesterday but they simply replied that they wanted us to wait for their instruction's email (P3) before gathering any sort of documents.

Wish you all a great weekend and New Year's eve!! 😊

Absolutely disappointed with the US Embassy in Dar es Salaam, my case has been ready for interview since the 12/11 but haven’t heard a thing, tried calling them/email but no reply, I just did my medicals and tried to go to the embassy, went there last week Thursday they said the interviews are conducted only on Thursday early in the morning, and the guard outside gave me a number and asked me to ring, rang them and the lady mentioned that they don’t have my file, rang the NVC, the NVC said the file was electronically sent on the 12/11, went back on Monday, the embassy was temporarily closed, went yesterday (Thursday), they said the interviews taken place on Thursdays are not for K1, the guards gave me their phone to ring inside, when I rang the lady mentioned they don’t have my file, I told them they have my file since the 12/11, after a long argument the lady asked me for my file number and now has told me to drop the documents on Monday and that they’ll let me know about the interview date. How Pathetic and unorganised Embassy this is. Iv never had such an experience with any countries iv travelled to.

P.S I doubt if it’s a busy embassy as I hardly ever see anyone from Tanzania.

Glad to find Indonesian fellows here. I suggest you to wait until you receive the email from the embassy. They will email the petitioner first then they will email the beneficiary.

When the status is ready on CEAC website, it means they have received the soft copy (scanned) of your approved petition.

Mine was ready since Dec 13, and my fiance got email from the embassy on Dec 21, then they email me (P3) on Dec 26. According to DHL tracking trick, it said that the case has arrived in Jakarta on Dec 17 though. So, it's good to wait rather than annoy them by sending their email. Because they receive so many emails asking for the same information. While waiting your fiance can schedule the medical check up and fill DS 160 & preparing other documents. Just a thought. You can message me if you want me to share the instructions from US Embassy in Jakarta-Indonesian P3 😊

thank you :) i emailed them yesterday not to ask for the interview schedule, but simply questions about tax returns, i was wondering what income taxes should we bring for the interview, 2017 or 2018? because i was reading in the other forum they mentioned it, if the interview schedule before April 15th 2019 we can use tax returns from 2017, but if it is after april 15th 2019 we should bring 2018 tax returns.

Hi Laras. I was wondering the same question too because I plan to schedule the interview on February 2019.

Can I get the link of the forum? Because the instructions they sent me only mention one year current tax documents and didn't mention about 2017 or 2018. I'm curious too :)

but our current plan is bring my fiance's 2018 tax documents because he just started working on Oct 2017.

@Laras.D

If you file your taxes before your interview, then that is the most current tax year they are requiring. If you do not file till April (tax deadline month) and your interview is in February 2019 then you will use 2017 because that is your most current filed tax return. To keep down all the paperwork you can submit a IRS Tax Transmittal and not the 1040 which will conserve paper. This form is acceptable and can be retrieved from the IRS.gov website for free as a same day download. Once downloaded send it by email and the beneficiary can print it off.

You have had a rough road during this whole process. What I like is your tenacity to not give up. For some this process is "easy" for others, they make it very difficult. Just keep plowing ahead and you will soon be rewarded. :thumbs:

You don't need to hurry. They will take 2017 without a problem. If one were to try and submit 2017 in May 2019 the embassy would kick that back and require 2018 or an explanation or at least the copy of the extension request. I think you have this under control.:thumbs:

Oh I see, that makes sense. We thought so too but he didn't make enough to reach the 100% or 125% of the poverty level in 2017 because he just worked for 3 months in 2017. He was in grad school for most of 2017. But thankfully he made it above poverty level in 2018 :) So that's why we think we want to send both, along with pay stubs and letter of employment, so they will be matched--just in case :D

Hi all's! Is the K1 fiancee required to submit their petitioner's most recent federal income tax return form (Form 1040) along with the I-134 to the embassy? Saw this posted in 2017 on a Facebook support group. BUT according to the I-134 instructions from USCIS, Form 1040 will only be required if the petitioner is self-employed. Please help? Scrambling to gather all the paperwork before my interview.
