@Greenbaum if I used a lawyer for K1.Is the lawyer going to receive correspondence from NVC?is it useless to add my email address to receive notification since the lawyer is suppose to take care of that?

In the words of Obama "if you like your lawyer you can keep your lawyer". How true was that statement? No much. I don't have a high regard for those who say they are lawyers for application process. Those that do work for immigration where someone is in a bind then I think there are great lawyers out there for that.

So, to answer your question, I have seen too many people on VJ where their lawyer didn't do much and when they did they screwed it up. If it were me, I would have my hand involved wherever I can in the process and starting now is a good time to start.

So yes, always be in a position to get responses from USCIS/NVC/Embassy so that nothing is missed. If you are connected with VJ you will understand more about the process then these mom and pop lawyers.

When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

Hi @Greenbaum,thank you so much for your help.I just want to let you know that I filled the AskNVC online form on Nov.30th.I got an email yesterday(9th) in my time zone that they have received my case recently.I believe yesterday the office was closed. My question, could they have received it earlier and they just sent out the email yesterday?

Sorry,just concerned.

Anything is possible. Trust the process as it works. But I can tell you that it will not work on your timeline but USCIS/NVC/Embassy's timeline then yes it going to be alright.

Don't forget to update your profile, without knowing your embassy we can't answer your questions conclusively.
