We had our AOS interview in Portland this afternoon. Overall it was an easy and pleasant experience. I'll cover it for those who may be interviewing in this office soon.

First, you must enter the federal building from the 'back' where the parking lot is. They have the x-ray machines there, and you must pass through them. We made the mistake of going to our first right after that, as I saw a sign that said "Citizenship and Immigration Services". That was actually where they do infopass appointments, and I guess other things of that sort. The lady pointed me in the right direction. It actually said on the letter for the interview appt., we had to go to room 106. It is just a waiting room with no UCIS personal there. You must drop your interview letter in the basket outside the door. This is easy to miss. We were called within 10 minutes for our interview.

A lady led us to an office after this where we where to be interviewed. She had our daughter sit to the side and we sat accross the desk from her. We were sworn in. I brought a box with me full of documents and pictures. She was suprised by this as I guess most people do not bring in that much evidence. She asked for our names and where we lived. She asked about past marriages and kids. She asked about wedding and honeymoon details. That was it! I was suprised it was the end of the interview and said "don't you want to see pictures? " :P We went ahead and showed her our wedding photos and everything just because we felt like it. When she saw we had taken pictures strait off our wall to bring in she started laughing. I guess we had way more then most people.

06/01/07 - Green card arrived in mail

Removing Conditions

03/02/09 - Mailed I-751 package (CSC)

03/06/09 - Check cashed

03/10/09 - Recieved Olga's NOA1

03/28/09 - Olga did biometrics

05/11/09 - Anya recieved NOA1 (took a call to USCIS to take care of it, oddly, they were helpful)

02/09/2005-------Sent in request to Congressional office for assistance with expediting EAD.

02/13/2007 -------- EAD Approved!

02/26/2007 - ------EAD received

Removal of Conditions:

05/12/2009 -- Overnighted application by USPS express mail (VSC).

05/14/2009 -- Green Card expired.

05/23/2009 --- Check cleared bank.

05/26/2009 -- Received NOA (NOA date May 15, 2009, guess they aren't deporting me).

05/29/2009- Biometrics Notice date

06/01/2009- Received Biometrics Letter

06/18/2009 - Biometrics

09/23/2009 - date of decision to approve (letter received), just waiting for card. No online updates whatsoever.

Great News!

We got a bunch of dirty looks and an RFE. But, we sent it by fax and it was approved that day.

2004-08-23: Met in Chicago

2005-10-19: K-1 Interview, Moscow (approved)

2007-02-23: Biometrics

2007-04-11: AOS Interview (Approved)

Great news. Thanks for posting details. I'm glad that Portland was smooth with everything. We had to insist they look at our pics too :P . Congrats!!
