Hello all,

I've applied for my I-131 last April.

I still haven't been called by USCIS.

My wife was in the Army for 7 years and is considered a Veteran.

We applied last April (2017), Does it usually take this long to get this done?

Thanks for all the help.

Your wife being a Veteran has no say in this at all and does not speed up or slow things down at all.

Edit. Did you apply for AOS at that time in April 2017 or 2018? Also please fill out your timeline so people can better help you.

Thanks for the info.

What is a typical processing time for this?

Did you file for just the Travel document or AOS as whole and was it this year or in 2017?

Hello,

Unfortunately being a veteran or even an active duty member does not speed up the process now for USCIS.

Where do you live? Depending on which field office is in charge of your file, you can look up processing times here:

https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

Now are you sure you meant I-131 Advanced Parole and not I-130 Petition for Alien relative?

Because it should take about 5-6 months to get the Advance parole, was it part of AOS?

I filed for just the travel docs

Then current processing times to receive the 18 month travel documents is about 5 months on average right now.

The OP might be talking about just filing for the travel documents and not filing for the AOS as a whole. But as of right now who knows since the OP is not being forthcoming.
