hi guys, i have a Q...i just sent my packet 3 to montreal embassy. I've heard montreal is backlog and now its taking 4-6 months instead of 2-4. is there anyway i can transfer to vancouver embassy. my lawyer says its impossible. but i've heard that a lot of ppl did. PLEASE some let me kno what to do and how to transfer if possible.

You have to have a mighty mighty good reason and a valid address in their area that they can send stuff to before they will consider transferring you. And be warned, the staff at both consulates are well aware of people trying to get their stuff transferred, and I wouldn't be surprised if they don't start cracking down on transfers soon.

Do a search in the Canadian forum for similar threads, others have detailed their experiences in attempting to get their case transferred.

I don't know for sure, but I heard that Van embassy stops doing K1. I just had my interview and the waiting time was close to 4 months, so I think it is still 2-4 months like they said.

I don't know where you heard that - the Vancouver embassy is still processing K1s, since I've just received my Packet 3 from them. Not sure about the interview times though.

exactly, i dunno where you heard that from. Vancouver embassy is still processin k1 and the waiting time is not at all 2-4 months its in weeks dependin on how fast you send back packet 3 unlike Montreal that jus takes foreverrrrr!!!
