I just received word that my IR-1 interview is next Friday. Now, I'm wondering about how to proceed with the medical exam. The letter states that I can do it on the day of the interview; however, the appointed time is 0.00 which is impossible given that the doctor's office is closed. Would I have to make an appointment or can I do the medical as a walk-in?

Also, any experiences concerning missing documents would be helpful. I'm not sure I can collect everything in a week.

Finally, what is the best way to get in touch with the consulate?

Thats great!!!

Try to be one day earlier in Frankfurt, it is walk-in in the mornings at the doctor.

Which documents are you missing? I'm sure you can provide them later, you just have to wait for the approval than until you sent them in and they are processed.

Good luck to you, Anja

Thanks for your reply, Anja and Henry. I can't really make it a day early because that would mean I'd lose another day at work, and I'd have to to spend another day at a hotel (takes 7 hours to get there from where I live, no ICE-service up here).

Called the consulate and they said no problem about the missing documents. I can send them in later. They seem to be cool, which is awesome! :)
