If anybody actually thinks that their politicians (senators, congressmen, governors, mayors, etc) actually care about them, they need to be "woke" up as somebody said earlier.

The point is, Trump met with this very important group, and if we are to believe that the Democrats care about people, then we have to apply the same assumptions to Trump as well.

I believe everything he does is for theatre, political or not. Its actually pretty common for both Democrats and republicans to meet with people of color. So i don't get why you would give him brownie points for doing his job.

I'll reserve judgement until something positive/negative happens.

Agreed. But this idea that Trump is some sort of KKK grand dragon and the democrats are angels is totally absurd.

FYI- I'm not Anti-Trump.  In fact, I'm very much for him.  If he could just cut out the twitter, he'd be great.

Well he is a politician, they do that sort of thing. His history would seem to suggest that he does harbor certain racist beliefs, and I believe that is part of the reason his base likes him so much. Trump is about as racist as you are billionarist.  He has made some remarks that ignorant people claim are racist (like the $h1thole comment about Haiti, actually an accurate description - ever been there??).  But racist? I haven't seen it, personally.  Now, does he think he's better than pretty much everyone around him?  Probably.  But that has no regard for asking color, I don't think.

 

As for the bold part... it COULD, if only you'd let the blinders fall away.

Something positive? I know you have been working hard for years to provide for your family, so the unemployment rate may not impact on your judgment.  But...

He has said lots of stuff that could easily be taken as being a tad racist.  Of course you would think, for a billionaire that would have used some of his wealth to learn to speak more clearly. I do not feel inferior, especially not to someone who espouses negative reaction to everything, and you are right, many places in America are s-holes, been to most innercities? Never seen much of any recent value in any of them, most of them form part of your liberal leaning group, small town America has its warts, but without the unbridled violence demonstrated in our urban core, you make a valid point about not seeing something because you are determined not to, could easily be used to describe you as well, but you can't accept that, keep barking
