good luck to your interview ! share with us your good news !

I got back from the consulate, with no visa. Here is the entire story:

First they asked for my birth certificate, police records, affidavit, etc; then they took my finger prints, they asked me a couple of questions (how did you meet him, what are you planning to do when you get to the states). I signed the ds-156k, waited for an other hour, finally they called me and said: your visa cant be issued today, we are keeping your passport and we will call you to tell you when you can pick it up.

I am confused about if we got approved or not, from my previous experience on visas that you get stamped on your passport (h2b, j1, f1, q1) You always get a picture taken and in this case they didnt do it!! So I dnt know what is going on, I hope everything is fine and there was just a problem with the system. what do you think guys?

At the interview in Kiev, they take the beneficiary's visa. It's mailed to her(his) address in a day or two, hopefully with a K visa stamp. I don't know if the procedure is any different for approval or dissapproval.

It sounds to me like you were neither approved or dissaproved, all embassies approve or dissapprove later after the interview. The agent should have informed you better of the procedure!

I hope you're not too distraught, there's likely nothing wrong.

Hi my fellow January filers!

I want to share the good news with you: I received the instruction package from the embassy today, yippee! Friday they emailed me they would send it on that day (June 1), but it wasn't postmarked until yesterday (June 5). I wonder if Mr. President's visit to Prague messed them up over there.

It isn't important, anyways. The instructions didn't say anything about returning forms back to them, I was just told to call them to schedule an interview once I have collected all listed items. So I did call right away, because thanks to VJ I have everything ready, of course. ;) First I was disappointed that the phone number they gave me didn't really work, it was just a recorded information line without any prompts or options. Only on the 4th try I was successful getting hold of somebody by hitting "0". The first available date was June 19th 15.30, so I grabbed it. Little disappointed again that I couldn't get appointment next week. Oh well. We are still very happy that I'll be home soon!!

I can start packing, yahooooo!!

PS: Sorry for double posting. I don't know though how many of you guys still go to the ol' good January Filers thread started by Lucho...
