Hey,

So it is listed that numerous vaccines are required for immigration:

  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Influenza
  • Influenza type b (Hib)
  • Measles
  • Meningococcal
  • Mumps
  • Pneumococcal
  • Pertussis
  • Polio
  • Rotavirus
  • Rubella
  • Tetanus and diphtheria toxoids
  • Varicella

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/vaccinations.html

I have most of these. However I am missing the rotavirus, pneumococcal and varicella (chicken pox) which are all children's vaccines. Im guessing alot of Aussies will be in the same boat, so I am wondering what the experience with these are?

I have had chicken pox previously, just not the vaccine.

Thanks for your help in advance!

My husband was in a similar boat. He took what records he could find of prior vaccinations to his medical, and for the ones where he was missing, but fairly sure he'd had the vaccine (Pertussis, Tetanus and diptheria, and varicella) the doctor just had him get it again because that was cheaper than the blood screening to see if he was immune.

I have my medical November 7. They told me that they can give any extra vaccines needed at the time of the medical. The guy on the phone was polite enough to say I should go to a GP beforehand in case I need any as it'll work out cheaper (it must cost more at Sonic Health Plus) but Im taking my chances because I'd rather pay a little more for what I need on the day as opposed to paying for something I don't

For anyone else interested in this topic.

I spoke to the Brisbane (ANZAC square medical centre), and they stated that all they require is:

Measles, mumps, rubella

Diperthia, Tetanus, Pertussis (whooping cough)

Varicella (chicken pox)/proof of having had it
