I was kind of liking the idea of using a separate courier service to pick up the passport and send it to me directly, now they consulate is not holding passports even if you request it?

Interview is this coming Tuesday, hopefully it's not so backlogged that it takes forever to receive the passport :(

My interview is tomorrow as well. Hoping they. Have some information for us when we go in..

We had decided to let  my husband's passport be mailed to pick it up. My husband's interview date was November 6th. They didn't mail the passport out until November 21st. It was sent from Montreal to BC and its been sitting in Richmond, BC since.

We keep getting alerts:

2018/11/25 00:01 Canada Delivery may be delayed due to labour disruption

The original Delivery date was supposed to be November 23rd and has thus been pushed back everyday another day and now says the expected delivery date is November 30th. I decided to call Canada Post today to see if there was anything we can do, and she put in an urgent alert on the package to see if it can be expedited since it contains a passport and immigration documents. We will see what happens!

Wife just had her interview this morning and was accepted, woo! She asked if she was able to pick up her passport in hand, and the lady told her that the passport will be couriered based on the original selection...in a few week!

I know Canada has enforced legislation that might help with the Canada Post study, but they're probably still so backlogged that there's going to be crazy delays regardless.

I really thought this waiting game was done at NOA2 (which was back in March) but I guess not.

Congrats!! Did your wife choose the option of courier to home and paying extra? Or pick up at Canada Post? Thanks

Congratulations on the approval! Anxiously awaiting my interview tomorrow. How long did yours take? Did they give you a turnaround time for the courier service? I'm assuming that it's also through Canada Post?

You’ll be just fine! It was so simple. I arrived at 7:35 for my 8 am interview and I left at. 10 am. The earlier you are there, the sooner you’ll get out. It is through Canada Post yea - I paid for the deliver to my home. I’m not sure on the timeline yet, but they provided a paper so you can track it - which I will do asap!

For those who got their tracking number by email(Canadapost), how long did it take for the email to come in? Mine said Issued-Final Processing(contact them if I didn’t receive in 5 business days) since November 26th but I have not received any email from them.

In a few weeks!?! Ugh....I hope not....I'm flying up to be with him through the interview and we were planning on flying back together but I only have two weeks off of work. Really hope it doesn't take several weeks, before this strike most people were able to get it by the end of the same week!
