A 45-year-old biker who thought it was a bright idea to give speed cameras the two-finger

treatment while travelling at up to 105mph, on the grounds that his visor was obscuring

his face and he had no registration plate on the front of his BMW, has been banned for a

year, The Telegraph reports.

Bus driver Philip Coffey appeared before the beak at Luton Crown Court earlier this week

on 10 counts of dangerous driving after he was tracked by police "with the help of BMW

and a national registration database".

The jury at Luton Crown Court cleared Coffey on Tuesday of dangerous driving, but found

him guilty on nine counts of careless driving. He then offered a guilty plea to a further nine

counts of speeding last year in Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard and was duly banned for

12 months and slapped with a £900 fine plus £600 costs.

Judge Michael Kay, QC, told Coffey: "Some of these speeds were eye-watering. You

decided to take the system on and I am pleased to say you lost."

Bootnote

In case you're wondering just how BMW and the feds tracked down Coffey without

having his registration number, they searched the national registration database and

liaised with BMW to reveal that only 3 of these BMWs were registered in Bedfordshire.

The search was then narrowed down to Coffey when his leathers were found to match

those on the pictures but also, his additional headlights gave police extra clues to go on.

In other words, Don't buy a BMW!! lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
